Hi Trish! Hope the big guy comes through for you. All of our 'good 'ol boys' where I work are all retired now so we have these hot shots that brought in from who knows where and they think they know it all. I am taking avalide for my BP meds. I don't know what the dose is. I am in the man cave right now resting. Just got off the eliptical.

Speaking of which...When I got on the eliptical tonight I was thinking to myself, "THIS SUCKS!" Then I thought 'Ya know what Phil? It's 20 minutes. 20 FREAKIN' MINUTES! What would you be doing if you weren't on that silly machine for 20 minutes. NOTHING! THAT'S WHAT!" The next think I know I have 10 minutes in. WOW! 'I'm half way there!' So here I am, hot, tired and sweating like a cold water pipe on a hot summers day. Cardio is done and now I have the rest of the evening to do whatever. I'll be watching the wether. 8-10 inches of snow expected tonight. DAMN GROUNDHOG! Next one I see I'm shootin' twice!

Well, I worked my body, now I'm going to go feed it! Pork steak, green peas and water.

I feel good! Funny how working out makes you feel good. I don't understand it, but I like it. Must be the blood running through my vains.

20 freakin' minutes...that's not much to ask for.

Take care y'all!
Phil

Yes, that's what I was thinking when Chic said about that.....sounds like what you told us to do with the treadmill. I am going to do that, but I haven't been back on it since I about passed out from my 31 mnutes. I need to take it more slow, I believe.

Trish - Have you had your Free T3 and Free T4 tested lately? These symptoms could be from a low thyroid (hypothyroid) AND it could also be from low estrogen or progesterone. These were my symptoms before I knew I was hypothyroid. After being on thyroid hormones, they mostly went away, but the tiredness and not being able to get to sleep came back and it was female hormones (estrogen and progesterone) that were low. You may just need estrogen. If so, ask for bioidentical hormones, not synthetic. My estrogen is called Estradiol and is very inexpensive.

I just got done with the first of 2 dozen sausage, egg, and cheese muffins. 25 more minutes and I'll be good for the next week or so. I also made up 6 1 cup bowls of sugar free jello to take to work. I use those zip-lock throw away containers. That makes a nice sweet snack at work for very little money. Yes, I'm cheap.

Supper tonight was a pork shoulder steak and 8 oz. of peas and lots of water.

They say we are to get 15 inches of snow tonight. I may not be able to go to work tomorrow!

I do not want to be without my coffee. I also made a tea kettle full of hot water and poured that into a second thermos. At least I can make some chicken boullion if need be. Thought I would post now just in case we lose power.

Deanna - The flax recipe I posted many pages back from my friend are good. They are flat like a tortilla. That is the one that MG is making (correct me if I am wrong), I believe. My friend, Juniper, gave me the recipe. I was lazy and bought some LaTortilla Factory wheat ones that have 5 effective carb grams. These are recommended by the good Drs. Eades.

Here is the flax torilla recipe of Juniper's:

Don't know if this is something that is already discovered, but I have had cravings for a soyless flat bread, low carb, so I decided to experiment and I think I have found the solution! It is a moist flat bread that you can use like a pita or a wrap. Great texture! Here's how to do it, very quick and very easy!

In a small bowl mix dry ingredients:

2 1/2 tbs flax meal
1/4 tsp baking powder
onion powder to taste
garlic powder to taste
dash of salt

Then:
Add one egg (I used one jumbo)
1 tbs melted butter
1 tbs water

Mix

Pour into 8" glass pie plate that has been sprayed with pam and spread till it covers entire bottom.
Cook uncovered for 3 mins in the microwave on high.

I comes out about 1/4" thick and pliable. Let cool. I spread tuna salad and lettuce on half of it and
flipped it over like a pita, and it was wonderful!

Try it! It's quick and easy.

Juniper

Metqa - Glad taking the CLA after food helps.

Phil - I hope today is a better day at work. Remember: Sign up for the biggest loser contest if you are still interested in participating.
Thanks, I appreciate the receipe. I will try it out.

Hi everyone, I'm still here. Last week was a crazy one and so was the weekend. Saturday we had my nephews birthday party, in which I will show you the pictures soon. I am going to download them tonight. Saturday night I went out with my boyfriend. He is always working, so our time together is limited. Then Sunday my son and I helped him in his yard. The brush people are coming by this week. We hauled tree limbs and brush from the back to the front. I raked up 5 bags of leaves, did his dishes, cleaned his stove, did 3 loads of laundry for myself. Then I went home and made healthy snacks to take to my friends house for the Superbowl game. Awesome game !!!! I was exhausted. Then this week has been terrible at work. I'm not eating as good as I should. But I did make some receipes tonight. Sorry about babbling on. I always look forward to this website!!!! It's the best !!!!

Hi everyone

Here is a picture of my nephews cake. In the upper left hand corner, a "7" candle was supposed to be there. My sister left it at home, so we had to go to Walgreens and get what we could.

Okay, here I am with my only child, 22 yrs old. and the birthday boy, my nephew. Look at my poochy stomach. Yuck, Yuck, Yuck. And I have been going to the gym faithfully. I use the weight machines, the treadmill, the eliptical and other ones. I need to work on my food intake. And of course, my diet soda intake. A couple days a week, I pick up a 44 oz. soda before work. I know that's not good.

Deanna

I see I made a mistake, this was supposed to show up in the above message. Sorry.

Hello All,

Trish-1500 mg is the actual CLA and yes I am also taking the borage oil
Aldma- I started last week with the EVOO and the lemon juice and today I feel like I have some decent energy.

I know I need to come to this forum everyday it is so easy to get discouraged with all the life presures it makes me emotionally eat. I have to learn to focus my energy elsewhere. Thanks for all your support.

Deanna- You are definately shaped like me. The belly will be the last to go probably...I know that sounds bad, but usually that's how it goesThese past 10lbs is where my tummy finally started to go away...I am hoping the last 26lbs takes care of it completely!!

Mikki- You schedule made me tired...you need to eat more if you are doing all of that

And I am down to 166lbs today!! Woot!! I can smell the 150's by the end of the month!!!!!!!!!

Deanna - That cake is adorable! You are a good decorator! I love the pic, too. Your belly looks smaller than your first pic in the white shirt. That is the first thing I thought -- that you look like you've lost weight since your first pic. Then, I read what you said in the next post. Girl, you are being too hard on yourself. Keep the faith.

Freeing - on being down to 166! You are smokin'!

Phil - Good going on your exercise and being prepared with your foods. I'm cheap, too, and I used to pack my food for the week when I worked and cart it in and keep it in the refrigerator. I only would get lunch out maybe once every 3 months. I saved all the money I would spend for lunch and used it toward my girls' college education.

MG - Thinking of you this morning because I had a protein shake in the blender, but I forgot to put flax in it. I took another tablespoon of the lemon flavored emulsified cod liver oil and . I don't know if I am going to be able to keep doing that. The good Drs. Eades recommended it in their Protein Power LifePlan book, but I was about to vomit after I put it in my mouth.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Eats for the day:

B - coffee w/carb coundown milk; whey protein shake
L - Not sure yet - maybe ham and cheese on a wrap
D - Hot wings and celery and blue cheese. Yummers!

Jilly...Hope your cough gets better soon! Both my boys have a really bad cough right now and I just feel so bad for them. At one point my oldest was sounding like a barking seal! Ouch.

Deanna...Your cake was adorable! I love edible art, don't you?

Uhmm, Mikki....Shave the kitty??? LOL....It's really great that in all that busyness you find time for good hygene!!!

ADLMA....I will definitely keep you posted! I do have to say that I think I am finally breaking thru the wall of my stall. Just this morning I woke up and "felt myself up" again. LOL...please let me explain....I know it sounds strange but we all joked about this a long time ago. It just means you are testing your progress by feeling body parts that you expect to start getting smaller with all the work you are doing. Well, I'm "feeling" a break in the stall so I'm excited to see if that "whoosh fairy" you all seem to be getting visits from finally made a stop at my place. I know that Mikki and Free were passing her back and forth between each other. Hopefully she escaped them for a bit to visit others! LOL

Anyhoo...I'm drinking my green tea and will soon be off to punish myself at the gym once more!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Mikki - my daughter read your post - "does she really have a tiger?" is the big question of the day. Girl, you should be a walking bone with all that stuff you do. Thank goodness you don't have a wood stove too!

Deana - I think you look beautiful! Don't dog that tummy. It will be gone, and for now, it looks firm. Just make sure you eat enough cals! Alos, your son looks like a very very sweet fellow. Cute! I love that he is hanging out with his mom! Cute cake too! Oh, and I can't forget your nephew - cute!

Chic - you look slim in your ava-what-ever-it-is! I know what you mean about feeling here and there. I check my tummy all the time. The last time my 9-year-old caught me doing it and blated out, "Mom, what are you doing??!!!" What can ya say? "Checking my belly fat, naturally." I figure, if you make it sound real common place, then they'll buy it--everyone does it! You're spossta do it! Right?

Do keep me posted! Do!

We're safe (I hope). I just read on the playground that the storm is coming toward PA. I'm relieved that DD22 is safe. She is in Nashville and said the sirens were going off, etc. When the siren went off again at 2:15 a.m., she got a blanket and pillow and layed in the bath tub.
