He had told me before NOT to LC in any way shape or form. Anyway, I got all freaked out and asked for feedback in the Main Lobby. Everyone was SO nice and helpful.

I went to the drs and he was great! He praised me for my hard work and my weight loss and he didn't ask about how I did it, so we never got into an argument. I was on Cloud Nine.

I was back UP to 180 this morning! Oh well, yo yo here we go!

Hi MountainGirl, I'm glad you had a good visit. That reminds me, I have to make a eye appt, my pap is due and my car needs an oil change. I'm getting tired. Anyone who talks about their health and their car must be tired.

Deanna..... Ahhh, sorry to hear that. Lot's of people seem to be in the dumps right now.

I had an ok day. As I was mentioning in a previous post my energy level is really down right now. Thinking I need to up my calories a bit more. I skipped the combo today and kind of wonder if that was a factor as well. I did go to the gym today with a pal of mine who is in excellent shape. She pushed me harder than I would have pushed myself so I kind of wonder if that's a factor too! Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Hope your day will be a better one tomorrow.

Hey Deanna,

Oh honey!! I'm sorry you're feeling poorly.
I pray you feel lost better soon and get yourself feeling great again!

Welcome Bufodieter,

Hi everyone!!! I hope y'all are doing well!!

Tom and Phil, don't look, this is for the ladies:

I read a comment about the weight loss that happens in our busts (well, most of us) and it was SO funny! She described her boobs as "National Geographic boobs!"

I've also seen it described as:
Tube socks with golf balls
Fried eggs gone South

Anyway, it's real, but it CAN be funny! I've lost quite a bit up top and what is left is pretty deflated, but you know, my hubby still says I'm beautiful.
That's what matters!

OK, I'm confused (and maybe it's because I'm trying to do math this late at night... )

The Tonalin CLA I bought at Walmart today are 1000 mg capsules. The supplement facts say (in brief):

Serving size 2 softgels
2000 mg, contains: 78 - 84% CLA

So, that means if I take 2 softgels, I'm actually getting 1680 mg of CLA (on the high end at 84%)? And to get the 3400 mg of CLA recommended I'd need to take 4 softgels which would put me just under at 3360 mg. Is this correct?

And now the GLA...

Bottle says:

500 mg per softgel
Serving size 1 softgel
Borage Oil 500 mg
GLA 110 mg

So I'd need to take 4 - 5 of the softgels in order to get 500 mg total of GLA. Is this correct too?

It's all so confusing! I always thought that if the front of the bottle said 1000 mg, you were getting 1000 mg of what you bought. But as I'm reading, I see that's not the case.

Thanks for helping out a CLA/GLA noob!

Morning All!! And Welcome to all newbies!!

Well Im on the titter totter of my weight again back and forth from 184-187.

Argh..I need to throw my scale away. Still having BM issues. Going to clean up my diet so when I post if you see something bad or that could be causing me stall please point it out to me. I am losing inches though cause I went down another belt loop and bra is loose. Taking 5-HTP and Vitamin C now too ( to make sure Immune is ok)

Menu:
B: 1 egg( cooked in coconut oil), 2 pieces Low Sodium Bacon on 2 revolution rolls
black coffee, 1 tbsp heavy cream, 1 splenda
S: 1/2 Flax muffin
L: 2 cups salad mix , 1 hard boiled egg ( possibly some steak on it have to see how I feel)
S: 1/2 flax muffin
D: Stuffed Portabello mushroom ( stuffed with cheese and jalapenos) and tilipia filet cooked in butter/coconut oil, 1 revolution roll made as a muffin

Going to shoot for 80 ozs or more of water.

MG- I am so glad your appt went so well. You ROCK!!
Chic- You always so full of energy and vaavoom!

Deanna- Hug!!

Trisha- id go by the dr's scale. they actually usually weigh heavy so that is real good that it weighs you less.

Free- I hope your TOM shows up for ya or maybe you hoping it dont so which ever you want I hope it happens.

Michelle- good job on working out like that. I need to get my lazy butt up to do things.I want to do pilates. I have Winsor dvd but wondering if anyone has any they suggest. I cant afford that machine so I have to do the dvd kind.

Bufo- I like the Toad swallowing state of mind thing!!

Lisa- How you doing?? ( lol saying that always reminds me of Joey on friends saying that)

And to all I miss hope you doing well.

Good morning to all you big fat loosers, and I do say that with great respect! I'll be happy when my combo arrives. I should never have let myself run out!!!!

Deanna (sp?) and Chic - Hope you both have lots of energy and are doing great today!!!

MG - You reminded me of that commercial, when the husband lose weight and is lookin' good, but the woman only looses her chest. I know you would rather be lighter than chestier! You have done a great job. I am glad your dr did not fuss at you for going LC. I know his praise made you feel great!

Trish - Are those the same scales that were on the blink last month? Child, you need to chuck those things! The last thing a woman, who is losing weight, needs is a scale that is not telling her the truth! I am still not woman enough to breach my scales. I figure I am staying the heck away from those thing, until my all purpose stretch pants feel loose!!!

MG (again) - I toasted my flax roll and put cheese on top. Makes a tasty little grilled cheeser! I am thinking about making one, today, by frying it in olive oil. Huuuummm.

Good morning everyone! Keep up the good work! I love hearing everyone's progress.

I however had a setback over the weekend. I discovered that being outside for 4 days straight at our county stock show that the cold makes me retain water like the HooverDam!! My scale jumped 13 pounds in 4 days of eating clean. Crazy world gone mad!!!

Well I just finished doing the 3 day fruit flush by Jay Robb. Guess what? That's right, 13 pounds of water gone plus .5 pounds! Current weight 155. Back on Atkins induction for a couple of days. I think I'll up my carbs a little by the weekend and do 1 full week of OWL next week. Then I might try the fruit flush again to see what happens~ As a friend pointed out to me this morning, Dr. A even believed in shaking things up and said you could do a couple of days of fruit and then back on plan.

How come noone told me the last 5-10 would be harder than the first 97?

Keep on keeping on everyone!

The only thing that sticks out to me is your lack of veggies. Salad mix is not the most nutrient dense veggie for your bod. Try a cup of buttered green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts etc. Don't forget the combo makes some of us stall but lose inches and I am one of those. The only other things I see in your menu is that the flax muffin makes a lot of people stall and the only other thing is a lot of dairy stalls some (the Rev rolls have dairy too). Hang in there!

WooHoo ADLMA. Glad the combo arrived. I'm still awaiting my borage oil (ran out) and it is on back order. Darn. I should have ordered it from Netrition.

I cleaned my whole downstairs of my house today and I am claiming that as my exercise for the day. My girlfriend came over for lunch and I made us a nice romaine salad. She is doing Nutri System so that is all she could eat and had to eat her packaged food.

Chic - Have fun snowboarding!

Free - Good luck on your preggo test, which ever way you hope it to be.

A big hello and to everyone else.

Hi everyone, we got our Netrition order and the liquid cla is just plain nasty. It is like someone else said, clear and runny and tastes horrible !!! I'm going to ask admin Tom, whats up with that. I dont think I can get these 2 bottles down. If this is a new formula thats going to stay, I am switching to caps !!!

Mikki, there is nothing wrong with that av

chic, lol I sneak some dyno from work tonight !!! Have fun boarding !!!

Bufo, gotcha . I read your blog, I liked it too. I also follow the FWK threads. Always go by the "actual" cla content on the back of the bottle. Same with the gla.

Q: When is 1000mg, NOT 1000mg?
A: When you're looking at a CLA label.

It's true. A bottle of CLA labeled 1000mg does not contain 1000mg of CLA. Here's why...The 1000mg the bottle is referring to is actually the carrier, or oil, that each capsule contains.

The oil in the capsule contains some CLA. How much depends upon a number of factors including which type of oil is used (sunflower or safflower) and how it is processed.

In order for a capsule to have 1000mg of CLA it would have to have a minimum of 1250mg of Safflower Oil and even more if it was made from sunflower oil.

Same goes for the Borage Oil caps (gla). Read the back of the label for the actual gla content.

Deanna, I'll trade your rain for our snow lol

MG, glad you didn't get yelled at by your doc.

Marsha, thanks, I liked his scale reading better lol

Adlma, yep same scale. I think the humidity from the bathrrom warped it

Missalissa, I bought that fruit flush book, maybe I should try it too
