Trish - I've been away about a month. Is this the same son that was a scam victim? Does he still have his job? I am sure it is in your posts, but this thing is huge, and I did not even try to read the end of the previous one! I do hope all went well with your son. How do you feel about your ab-lounger? I considered getting one, but I read that little ones could lose a digit if they put their hand in the wrong place at the wrong time. Boy, I'd croak if I mamed one of my youngens in the name of wieght loss!!!

Chick - I must have the hair you think you want. I am 5'8". It touches the floor and is STRAIGHT. I think your hair is lovely!

MG - A little more about me? I have 3 youngens. I home educate. I use the kitchen as the school room in many ways. It reaches math, reading, reasoning, science, and history. I visited your blog again. Gotta try those recipes! I love to bake, perhaps, too much. I become impatient with slow weight loss, and I head for the kitchen to bake up a little something. I think it grows on me, shall I say. I ran out of the combo, and kept putting off ordering. Now, I am determined to lose some serious poundage, but have no combo! I made the order and know it will be in soon.

I'd love to see a picture!

I know you'll do great! I hope your combo arrives soon!

Hey Lisa or Trisha or anyone that knows...

I got some fish oil (ewwwww, it's awful!), but now I can't recall (and can't find the page) if I am supposed to take the fish oil WITH the Combo, or not!

Would you be so kind as to take pity in an old lady and remind me when it's best to take the fish oil?

Thank you!

Good morning all. My weight is back up today 1.5 pounds, but TOM is due so I guess that is why.

Trish - I feel for ya, because I am having that same problem. My friends on another thread I've been in for several years reminded me that I have dropped my carbs low and that I seem to lose better with increased carbs. Thank God for friends.

Your ab lounger sounds like something I would love but I know DH would have a cow if I bought one because my basement is like a gym already because I have a Lifeflyer, a universal gym, a treadmill, stair stepper, free weights, mini trampoline, an ab roller (but it hurts my neck), exercise bike (stationary), and a step for step aerobics. All I need is someone to stand over me with a whip so that I use them.

Chic - That is awesome that you are so close to goal! You will get there because I can feel your determination. Will you please rub some of that determination to exercise on me, pretty please?

Lucki - KUTGW!

to all that I haven't mentioned...I'm not quite awake yet.

Hi All!

MMof2 - I think we all have a huge collection of machines and tapes!

Chick - Aaahh shucks! I'm butsted! Now y'all know my true identity! Now don't y'all start askin' for a photo! And yes! I can sweap and cook at the same time! You know, at first I let my hair grow, as my husband wanted it to stay long. It has always been long. Now, that I have not cut it for 9 years, it is way long. I think, perhaps, it is time for a cut. I just don't know how I want it cut, so I wait until I think of an idea on that. Meanwhile, it grows on.

MG - I have a bunch of questions for you. Is it OK if I contact you via your blog? By the way, where can I find the flax roll recipe???

Michele....I'm rubbing all my enthusiasm-to-exercise on ya girl!!! Seriously though, all it takes is to, I'm using these words again, visualize yourself doing it. Picture yourself doing it and slimming down with every workout. Then put it into action and watch what happens! At night I sort of do a self hypnosis. One of the last things I tell myself before falling asleep is- "I'm going to get up in the morning refreshed and energized. I will go to the gym and get a good workout in." Interestingly, the nights I don't do that, I won't wake up feeling like hitting the gym. It won't hurt you to try it to see if it's as effective for you as it has been for me.

ADLMA....I really like your personality!!! Your posts are so fun to read. Hope you stay with us.

Chic - Thanks! I plan on hanging tight to the thread! I'm gonna take a whack at your night time thoughts plan. I figure it sure can't hurt! I just got a Pilates Reformer, because the Tony Little thing and the treadmill were not enough! I need more, more, more machines! Seriously, I'm kinda diggin' the Pilates Reformer (so long as I don't get my hair stuck in it). I hurt all over and walk like Hurman Munster, so it must be doing something?

Thanks, hon. I'm feeling it.....taking it all in. Going to go down in the basement as soon as I get back from the post office. (I did just scrub the kitchen floor and I am sweating and it is cold here!) I will let you know later what I decided to do for exercise in the basement. Tonight I'm going to try envisioning myself waking up refreshed and exercising tomorrow morning before I take a shower.

Good Morning Peeps!

ADLMA: Sure, just email me! My address is on my blog. I really would love to see your hair! How awesome! I'll post the flax recipes. They are SOOO yummy!

I was back down to 179.8 this morning. I seem to yo-yo-yo all the time.

Tylar: I'm sorry, but I don't count carbs. I do know that the fiber in these flax rolls are really high and that reduces the carb count, but I know how you feel about not counting net carbs. However, with flax, I think it's safe to.

Marsha: I'm sorry things are stressful at work. Please, take gentle care of yourself.

Michele: Oooooh, can I come and play with your exercise machines? I want a total gym so badly!! I have a Gazelle that's lots of fun, but I'd really love an ellipical cross trainer or something.

Hi Kathy, Chic, Mikki, Phil, Tom, Trisha, lisa, Lucki, Belli and everyone else! (I'm sorry if I missed anyone!)

Hey, anyone got an answer for the Fish Oil question I asked? Thanks!

Here are the recipes I used, but I tweak them a bit. I don't use Splenda, I use stevia. I'll post the original versions and if you want my changes, lemme know.

This is from Linda Sue's website. All the comments and pictures are her's.
Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

FLAX SANDWICH BUNS
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon flax meal
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon granular Splenda
1/2-1 teaspoon caraway seeds, optional
1 1/2 teaspoons dry minced onion
3 eggs
1 1/2 tablespoons water
1 1/2 tablespoons oil

Put the dry minced onion in a small bowl and add just enough water to moisten; let stand until softened. Mix the dry ingredients; add the onions, eggs, water and oil. Pour the batter into 6 greased muffin top pans. Bake at 325º 15-20 minutes. To serve, split the buns horizontally to make two halves using a long, thin knife.

Makes 6 servings
Can be frozen

Per Serving: 140 Calories; 11g Fat; 8g Protein; 5g Carbohydrate; 3.5g Dietary Fiber; 1.5g Net Carbs

These buns are quite nice and remind me a bit of whole grain bread. I topped my sandwich with some thousand island dressing, lettuce, salami, Swiss Cheese and a very thinly sliced grape tomato. While I was enjoying my sandwich, I got the idea to add a few caraway seeds to my next batch of buns, then make either a pastrami or corned beef sandwich with Swiss cheese, thousand island and some coleslaw. Here's a picture of my sandwich:

Sandwich: 324 Calories; 26g Fat; 17g Protein; 8g Carbohydrate; 3g Dietary Fiber; 5g Net Carbs

PASTRAMI OR CORNED BEEF SANDWICH
2 thin Flax Sandwich Buns or one thicker one sliced in half
1 ounce Swiss cheese, sliced
1 ounce pastrami, sliced thin
1 small scoop My Favorite Coleslaw

Top the bottom half of the bun with Swiss cheese then the pastrami or corned beef and a scoop of coleslaw.

Makes 1 serving
Do not freeze

Per Serving: 438 Calories; 36g Fat; 21g Protein; 8g Carbohydrate; 3g Dietary Fiber; 5g Net Carbs

NOTE: The bun in the above photo was made using golden flax meal instead of regular. That's why it has a lighter look to it.

Wow gratz on the 25 years that is quite an accomplishment in this day and age. I will make sure to check your blog often. I havent updated mine in a while and I kinda use it more to vent than talk about anything lol. So its just my rantings on it. I have habit of starting one and then deleting and starting over...lol.

UtahMama, I think someone else mentioned something about their cla being thinner too back about when you got yours. I believe netrition said it was a thin batch but was ok. You may want to e-mail admin Tom or Netrition and ask about it to be safe if the shaking the crap out of it doesnt work lol. We store ours upside down and then shake it real good. I never did taste orange creamsicle lol just tastes sweet to me

Deanna, June 29th here. I'm back up to 205 today, so swollen and puffy I had to unzip my previously loose jeans at work last night. I feel like the pillsbury dough girl lol

chic, your be at goal in no time, wtg !!!

ADLMA, yes, same son. He ended up having to do 3 weeks in jail, and he did keep his job, thank God . I love my ab lounger !! Its the only crunch type thing I can do with my neck injury that doesnt hurt and I love the stretch I can get with it. I found a workout dvd on ebay for it. It takes about 10 minutes for a full workout. I need to have a visual to make sure I am doing it right. I keep mine put up, when the grandbaby is here.
I envy your long hair. Mine gets so long, like it is now, and just stops growing or breaks off because of my hard hat.

MG, the fish oil needs to be taken 3 hours apart from the cla/gla. Those flax buns look so good. Tom made the Cleochatra's Best Ever Revol-Oopsie Rolls and they are Awesome !!!

Michele, Tom thinks maybe I am not eating enough too

Mikki,

to everyone else

The Lighter Side of Low-Carb: Better-Than-Ever-Best-Yet Revolution Rolls!

Cleochatra's Best Ever Revol-Oopsie Rolls

3 large eggs
1 pkg Splenda
dash of salt
pinch of cream of tartar
3 ounces cream cheese (not Tbsp!) Do not soften!

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Separate the eggs and add Splenda, salt, and cream cheese to the yolks. Use a mixer to combine the ingredients together. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff (if you're using the same mixer, mix the whites first and then the yolk mixture). Using a spatula, gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the white mixture, being careful not to break down the whites. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray and spoon the mixture onto the sheet, making 6 mounds. Flatten each mound slightly.

Bake about 30 minutes (You want them slightly softer, not crumbly). Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes, and then remove to a rack and allow them to cool. Store them in a bread sack or a ziplock bag to keep them from drying out.

Makes 6 @ about 85 calories a piece, >1 carb per

Trisha- I have realized I dont lose if I dont up my calories ( I am trying to eat 1500-1800 now where i was at 1100-1300). I still have mind set of low calorie so upping them scares bejeezes out of me but so far on the times I have increased I have lost weight. I think we get in that mindset and then our bodies grab hold of it and we have to shake it up.

As I mentioned previous I am reading The Diet Cure and it tells why our bodies do that and how to shake it up.

Ive upped my fat and trying to keep protein to 60-90 grams a day and trying so hard not to pay attn to calories even though I do still watch out of habit. Also found if I dont drink my water I gain too, very weird.

So hang in there it just your body adjusting.

Thanks Deanna! With the sleep apnea i have no choice but to stick with it.....that contraption is NOT stayin'!!!!!

i think i am going to try the oopsie rolls. they look very simple to make. we are a native family and it really is very disappointing to eat a native meal without frybread....these look like they will be a good substitute.

Marsha, I do drink alot of water while I am home, but its hard to do at work. It's embarrasing to shut down production and have 3 trucks sitting there watching me run to the outhouse to go lol

I never watched my calories so I have no idea how many I am eating. I'll start posting what all I am eating and drinking so maybe someone here can analize it for me. I just got up at 2 so I havent eaten yet today. Toms making those oopsie rolls now and they smell so good I just realised I am starving lol. I make a turkey, swiss and horseradis
