Good morning. I know that this is acctually the afternoon but I just got up.
Great job on everyone's weightloss. I'm only a pound down from last week. It is however one less pound on me. I am continuing to take my combo and walk my dog. I am trying to make little changes as I go so they will stay with me. I 'm trying to overcome my all or nothing attitude. So if the weight is coming off slowly or i don't walk as far or as long as I think I should I am continueing on anyway. Because at least I'm doing something different than before. Maybe doing it this way this time after I lose the weight I want to I will be able to keep it off. Sorry for all the rambling. Hope everyone has a great day. PS - Mountian Girl- I may not have depression but I am familure with it due to my DH dealing w/it in the past. No judjement against you here. I will keep you in my prayers . ![]() Please pardon the spelling errors and typos. Writing/ typing can be tough when my dyslexia kicks in at times.

I'm surprised I even related not losing to that, but I did log it in my fitday, and so that is when I stopped losing on the scale. |

. We are all friends here so lets all try to put this behind us and move on ![]() Rachel, good morning . I'm a night shifter so this would normally be my morning too. Don't worry about typos, I am the typo queen lol and I don't even notice. How much gla are you taking?Michele, good to see you today. Yea, it's like my body gets immune to things real easy so I have to shake it up a big at times and get things moving again. I'm happy with my results in the first week. It will slow down when I lose all the re-gain, probably around 192 Mikki, ![]() ![]()

WOE: LowER Carb - Trying to kill a 3 yr plateau!
Start Date: June, 2004

Hi everyone!
I'm new here to Low Carb friends. I have been reading this post with particular interest. I ordered the liquid CLA from Netrition, along with the NOW Borage oil. I've tried to be self sufficient and figure it out from this post, but I'm still a bit confused on the process of taking these two supplements. First, I know I take a tsp per day of the PBL CLA Plus (I got from this thread that it's MUCH easier than the five pills per day of the capsule form!), but I'm a little lost on how many of the Borage oil I should take. Also, was I reading correctly that these should not be taken together? When taking the CLA, it's good to take it with protein? Does this apply to the borage oil as well? Does this process work if you have started adding a few carbs back into your diet? I'm not even doing official "phase 2" of South Beach. Really, I just added back in like a low-carb wrap with my lunch sandwich. Still no carbs at breakfast, almost always an Atkins shake (I'm sick of eggs!). Maybe a 1/4 cup of wild rice with dinner once or twice a week. I'm still losing, so it seems to be working, but a boost to my metabolism and weight loss would be AWESOME. I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I'm just trying to be clear before my supplements arrive and I start taking them. I'm excited about it AND about joining this forum! Yay! ![]() Thanks in advance, Rene' |

Marsha - thanks for the info. I'm trying to write everything down, we'll see how it goes. One sort of "not so smart" question, do we count our calories even when we count our carbs, do they go hand in hand? I read somewhere they said even if our carbs were low, and our calories too high we still would not lose weight. What do you think?

Jane- Well I had issues with getting my fats into my diet. They said to try to eat more fat than protein which in some instances would go hand in hand to me. I am learning slowly how to fix that. You are supposed to not have to count calories but some do some dont. I kinda watch mine. I have noticed I only lose if my calories are around 1200-1300 but after talking to a few other ole timers in forums I am learning I should be able to eat more calories as long as I add in fat. I have to remember to add in the vegs and so forth. I have ordered a book recommended to me called the diet cure. It tells you how to reset your caloric intake levels so I am hoping I can learn to quit worrying about calories and reset my bodies sticking point. I think I count calories form all the years of low fat diets. But I am working on it day by day to get in my good stuff and see how
I lose then.

Rene, welcome to the thread and this site, I'm proud we are your first post on the site !! You need to take 1/2 Tablespoon of the cla, not Teaspoon. I found a little 1/2 Tbsp measuring spoon I use. For the Borage oil, I take the same ones you got and I have to take 4-5 a day. Tom does good on just 2. You can start out at 2 and go up as/if needed. The cla and gla can be taken together, but if you also take fish oils or flax oils, they need to be taken seperate a couple hours later. They all compete for absorbtion so you want to give your body time to take it all in. Taking the cla & gla with protein cuts down on the queezy feeling you may get from the extra oils the first few days you start on this combo. It works on whatever plan you are on , as long as you do stay on plan. Your not asking too many questions
, we are here to answer and help you along. The borage did help some of us cut our appetites too, and some experienced a warm feeling and added energy. Again, glad your joining us ![]() |

Mrs
Thanks for the info, Trisha, and for the warm welcome!
Wow, 5 borage oil pills per day, huh? Not that I care about taking that many, I just can't imagine REMEMBERING to take that many! Brain rot, ya know! Do you take all five of them at once or split them up through the day? That's one of the reasons I went with the liquid CLA. MUCH easier to do. Thanks for the clarification on the 1/2 tbsp., NOT tsp.I will probably start with 2 borage and see how it goes. It's probably better to ease into it anyway or I'll be living in the bathroom. Better get a good book! LOL! Happy Monday! |

Your very welcome. Its best to start with 2 Borage. You may not need any more. I do take all mine at the same time, but others split theirs up through the day. I would forget so down they all go with breakfast !! Keep us posted on your results please

Quote:
I did 100 crunches tonight. Why is it I feel all jackd up after doing those? I haven't done those for a long time and I tell you what, I feel good. Don't know why but I'm ready to go. My gut will hurt tomorrow. I'll take it.For supper tonight I raided the freezer and pulled out some swiss steak. I thawed it out, stuffed it in a vacuum bag with a bottle of Lawry's Baja Chipotle with lime juice marinade, stuck the open end in the vacuum sealer and sucked the air out of the bag. Doing that pulls the marinade into the steak. I'll grill it on the George Foreman here in about 15 minutes. I'm searching my MP3 for work out tunes right now. I have it loaded with 808 songs with everything from all kinds of rock to country to Christian tunes. Right now I'm jammin to Queensryche. |

I had a moment tonight. Had to make cookies for my daughter school and bought the prepackaged dough. I put them on pan and put in oven no problems but I saw a small piece of dough left in wrapper and I stuck it in my mouth but then i spit it out lol. I felt guilty as crap that I was going to eat that. Wow I am converted I think.

LOL! I love that song. That song was the only reason I bought the Empire CD. I listened to the rest of the CD and guess what? I loved their music! In fact, I had to go back and listen to silent lucidity again. Makes me want to turn out the lights, find a lighter, and let the flame ride high...just like the god old days.

Chic - You look smokin' hot!
Phil - That chipotle lime sounds sooooooo good! I'm going to have to look that up at the grocery store. By the way, I saw brown eggs at the grocery store the other day and the tag on the shelf said $1.53/dozen large brown eggs and $1.69/dozen large white eggs. So I thought about you! I bought the brown eggs and couldn't wait to tell ya, and then I looked at my receipt when I was home and they charged me $2.99 for those brown eggs! I was but I'm eating them. That's a pretty expensive dozen and here I thought I was getting a good deal.![]() Congrats on the 200's! Trish - Can't wait to see the pics! babiegal. Jane. I'm so happy that you are sleeping through the night with no problems. Magnesium is an amazing mineral. ![]()
