Ahh, thanks Mikki....I too straighten my hair out now. I was the bomb in the 80s with the big hair and all. Now if I go natural, I'm just a bum!
Hair question for those of you who straighten your hair...what do you use to do it with? Hot iron, blow dryer or both???

Which reminds me, I have to change my avatar picture!

Hey all,

I'm a newbie. I have been dieting/fast/low carbing for years...not to mention some major eating disorders along the way. That being said, I've finally decided to stop the cycle and stick with a low carb way of eating. I've already lost a bunch of weight and I'm approaching my goal weight but I'm having some trouble staying motivated because those last 10lbs are really slow to come off.

I've added the CLA/GLA combo and I'm hoping that helps.

I wonder if any of you have also found the last ten the hardest...I don't want to think my weight is where it's supposed to be because I was always thinner before the docs put me on meds (which I am no longer on)

thanks for your help
yvonne

Chic - My oldest DD has really curly hair, naturally. I think it is beautiful curly, but she straightens it. She uses a hot flat ceramic iron that she bought from Sally Beauty Supply.

Yvonne - Sorry I can't answer your question because I'm not anywhere near goal. Good luck to you on losing those last 10 pounds.

Hello everyone. I made it through another night at work lol. They had the whole crew up on the slope right under the fallin. I had to man the radio on the RR car and the guys had to pick up the fallen rock from the track and off the belt line. We had one accident where a loose slab fell on a guy. It wasnt a big one so hes just sore, not hurt real bad. It dropped on his hardhat and slid down and hit his forearm. I had to go to the bathroom lol so I walked out of the slope. we were 250 feet down but its a steep slope and I thought I was gonna die !!! My heart was pounding so hard lol. Going back down was alot easier lol I just weighed and I am down to 204. Not a big drop but going in the right direction . 3 lbs....I'll take it !!! We wont be on alot this weekend, I have my work Christmas party tomorrow night. (they forgot to reserve the club for december), and we are supposed to go to my moms in Ohio Sunday to cut up a tree that she had cut down. Thats if it doesnt snow like its supposed to. Gotta go dry my hair so we can go to Lowes and get our wood countertop for our bathroom sink. We got our sinks from mexico this week Yay !!!! I'll take pics when its finished to share. Thanks for all the well wishes for me going down the slope, Luv ya all !!!! Later......

chic, I love that video !! I was cracking up at your hubbys comments at the end . You are such a pretty lady and so thin in that video !! How much weight difference is there from then till now? You dont look much different than your av pic to me. You baby sure is a cutie !! I have naturally curly hair. I straighten my hair sometimes. I blow dry it with a paddle brush, then use my Remington wet2straight flat iron with a heat protection leave-in spray.

Michele, you silly girl lol you dont have to post pics ina swimsuit just cuz I did lol. I did that (and it was very difficult) so I would keep myself accountable and it's hard to see the real changes with clothes on.

Mikki, are you eating enough??? That doesn't look like much. No dinner? I found that I could actually eat more when I LC. just checkin cuz I worry about you all

Free, thanks and hope you feel better soon too

Jane, That is wonderful news !!! No night binges woohoo !!! I knew you could do it. We are so Proud of you !!! Congrats on the 2 pound loss !!! Now don't get discouraged if it slows down. You will still keep losing inches even if the scale stalls and occasional whooshes will have that scale catching up in no time !!! You can ramble here anytime lol we love hearing from you

bellabella, yes the primrose did give me headaches, so switch to the Borage. Dont you get discouraged either, give it time, it will work

Marsha, you pic look great !!! You dont have to answer every post, we understand . It thrills me to see how busy this thread had gotten and all the wonderful support going on. Yay to us all !!!!!

Tom, glad to see you posting here more

Deanna, Your very pretty, and there is nothing wrong with being short. I am 5'9 and it sucks being taller than most people I know lol

Rachel, Glad to have you back with us. Good for you for keeping up with the walking.

Dani , Congrats on the 100# Loss !!! Dang...your doing AWESOME !!!! You deserve that ring, enjoy it

Jilly, that is so wonderful your hubby is doing it with you. I know it makes it so much easier for me with Tom doing it too. The pics really do help you see the results. Tom lived in Alaska when he was in the Coast Guard. lol it is hard keeping all the comments straight. I have to type out all my replies on a notepad as I go through the posts so I can add to them and scroll back if I have to lol. I always refresh before I copy and paste it to the reply box in case there is new posts lol

Kathy, sorry about your fall, are you ok????

Belli, as I said earlier, its wonderf you have your hubby working out with you too. Makes it alot easier huh? Your hubby sounds wonderful too, but...I have the best mwahahahaa!!!

yvonne, The research said that the more you have to lose, the better this combo works, so it may work slow on you. I havent even come close to those last 10#'s yet lol so I can't amswer that one. Welcome to the thread

Mikki...That sounds like a really good hair appliance. Are you still having a problem with the oily spot?

Being that today was such a nice day here, (70 degrees) we decided to take our dogs to Dog Beach and throw a football around. In turn I didn't get a chance to get my pics taken because when we got home, it was time for my H to go work.

Hope you all are having a great day~

Thanks Trisha.....I'm really glad that you guys made it through the night fairly safely- with the exception of that one poor feller. Ouch!
Uhmmm..to answer your question...Although some people would say I wasn't that much over weight at my heaviest, it was the way I felt that was the HEAVIEST. When I gained the extra weight, it really made me feel miserable. I had no energy, felt depressed and really unattractive. So I'm kind of wondering if I had gone through some mental thing, possibly post partum (sp?). I weighed 137 pounds the week I got pregnant with my first. Since then I have fluctuated back and forth between 45 lbs over, to my best of not being able to break through the last 10 to get back to my pre-preg weight. After a bit of losing and regaining, I've finally began a slow but constant downward slope again. At this point since March, I've been slowly losing it but getting closer to goal. I have about 20 lbs to go. I say this delicately knowing that there are people here working so hard to lose much more weight. To these people, I have the upmost respect for you and your achievements.
I guess that's what we are all here for. Just one part of us doing our best to get through our own personal obstacles and obtain our goals!

Just responded to post by a newbie on the Induction Forum who has been taking the combo for 3 days and vomiting from it all the time and saying it reminds her of when she was bulimic and she doesn't like it. Ok Ok I bit my tongue and just asked her nicely why in the world would she keep taking something that makes you so sick you vomit constantly and then nicely advised her to stop because she might have an allergy or sensitivity to it. Why do we get so blindsided by our weight we will go to any lengths, even if it means making ourselves sick to get rid of it? Sorry for the rant but geeesh!

Hi all!
Gosh I am so excited!! I've lost 3lbs this week! I'm so glad to see the scales moving finally in the right direction!!
Trisha~ glad that you got out safely last night, Hope that guys isn't too sore.....It is great to have DSH doing it with me. It makes it so much easier to eat better when I don't have to watch him eating stuff that I can't (excuse me...choose not to have) .
All of you that have posted pics I just want to say that you all are gorgeous and look great!! I will post hopefully this weekend. I too hate to see myself in pics....I cringe when I look, (am I that fat!!!:
Michele, I love you hair color! I hope mine goes that color.....I too seem to get out of breath as well. It is embarrassing! My job is at the top of the stairs and I go up and down them lots on some days, and sometimes I hope that no one is in my office when I get tot he top for rfear that they will see my out of breath!
Mikki, I pray that all is well with your lump.......I have a friend on another board that just went through it last winter. She is doing great!
Chic, you know your body and where you are comfortable, it doesn't matter if it's 10lbs or 100lbs. thank you for your consideration. You are a great asset to this thread.

Gotta run for now as it's time for bed! I hope you all have a great night and get good rest. I'll see you all tomorrow. I am so glad that I found this thread, you are all a great group and so supportive and encouraging. Thank you for being so welcoming!

Hello everyone!

My name is Sue. I've been a member for a while but I'm a MAJOR lurker. I've lost almost 70 pounds over the past 8 months LCing but I've been pretty much stuck where I am since September. I've been losing and gaining the same 5 pounds over and over again. Wouldn't mind it so much if I were losing some inches. I'd love to shrink this gut a bit.

After reading all of the wonderful posts about CLA/GLA, I'm willing to try. I'm off to the store today to pick some up. I'm currently taking a multi, COQ10 and Chromium. Well, I try to take it everyday - if I'm rushing out the door, I usually forget.

When is the best time to take the CLA/GLA combo? Is it okay to take with other vitamins or should I spread it out thru the day?

TIA for your help.

Sue

Morning Everyone!!
I feel back to normal to day thank goodness. And I claim my 2 lbs loss for the week YAY!!
Mikki- Our prayers are with you. I will share something personal with you. I had a lump removed 3 years ago, but mine was cancerous, but I am a lucky one cause they caught it before it had spread. I am cancer free as of Oct 2007. I started this woe knowing it could help with that. Sugar is poison to someone that has cancer and so I make sure I dont eat it and atkins is best way to help. So doing this lifestyle is best thing you can do.

Lisa- People get in a mindset and doesnt matter if you tell them to stand on their right foot and howl at moon while peeing on a tree they will do it if they think it will help them. That is why we have so many diet pills out that are crap but people flock to them.

Gratz to Tom & Jilly--Woot losses feel so good!! And I know those lbs lost make you feel so great!!

Sue- Welcome and glad you not a lurker now. I take mine all at one time. I take liquid CLA though cause that many pills just too much on me. But others spread them out I think.

And a big hello to everyone else!

Trisha- Cant wait to see those sinks!! I am in mindset to work on my house this spring so I like seeing what others do.

Menu for today:
B: Bacon & cheese on revolution rolls, 6ozs coffee, 1 tbsp cream, sf mocha syrup, and a pack of splenda

L: Ribs & green beans or hot wings

D: LC Clam Chowder

And if I snack I made some of those cream cheese danishes with strawberry center flavored.

chic, you are so lucky to live so close to the beach !! I agree with what you said. Its not all about the weight, but how we feel about ourselves

Marsha, I'll post the pics when we get the sinks in. I love looking at remodeling pics too to get ideas . Glad that water weight is gone !!

Mikki, try not to stress too much. I know, easier said than done, but just remember, we are all here for you girl !! Where are you trying to upload pics to?

Lisa, I've had alot of those bite your lip moments lol. Its very hard to keep quiet at times

Tom, your doing great as usual. Thanks for cooking us all those wonderful meals

Jilly, congrats on the 3# loss WTG !!!

Sue, welcome to the thread. Congrats on the 70# loss !!! Its ok to take the combo with vitamins, but keep it seperate from other oils like fish or flax. Keep about 3 hours time between taking them.

Another pound down for me, 203 this morning . Thats 4 pounds this week

Good morning everyone!

Jilly & Marsha....WAY TO GO on your lbs lost!!!

Tom.....8 lbs already??? Wow, that's really great and really fast! Just curious if men have some advantage on this combo.

And YES YES, I really think that we should meet up in the chat room. Great idea! Set up a time and who ever would like to join in will. Just be sure to mention whether it's eastern, mountain, or pacific time because I'm way over here on the west coast. Thanks!

Have a great day everyone!
