Yes I was smarter this time I have ordered 2 bottles of the tonalin. Tell me how sad this is... it is was less than half the cost for 2 bottles even with the extra shipping that I have to pay to get it to australia than to buy them here. And you can't find the gla anywhere. The tonalin here is $70/bottle, the same size and dose as what you get from netrition.

Thank you so much, KYCowgirl! The EPO only contains 90 mg of GLA so I went out and bought some Borage Oil 1000 mg capsules; the Borage Oil contains 200 mg, twice as much. The Vitamin Shoppe carries 300 mg GLA but I did the math and the one I bought was a better buy : 20,000 mg total for 3 bucks less than the 18,000 mg bottle. At these prices (free-range chicken breasts are costing me almost $9 per pound in NYC), you gotta do the math!

THANKS AGAIN FOR THE ADVICE!!!

Hey Trisha,

Since you seem to be the mother hen of the GLA/CLA combo posts I had a question for you. I have 1000mg capsules of Tonlin CLA. I see the recommended dosage is 3400mg daily..should I take 3 or 4 capsules? Started the combo last week and so far I feel great...boost of energy with no scary shaky side effects.

Thanks,
Blair

Hi Blair , welcome to the site and this thread. As the chart below shows, its better to go over a little than under but if you go way over it loses effectiveness. So take 4 of the Tonlin caps and let us know your results please . This combo is all natural so thats why you will get energy without the jitters, no stimulants at all

I was taking the cla/gla plus 1000 mg each of fish oil and flaxseed oil. This combo definately decreases my appetite. I have to make myself eat now. I just don't get hungry very often and it takes alot less to fill me up when I do.

We went to the casino and ate at the buffet sunday and I had my first cheat with a piece of german chocolate cake (with carb blockers) . I took 3 bites and didnt want anymore and pushed it away. Last time I was on this combo and we had our casino cheats (also with the carb blockers) I always lost a pound or 2 the next couple days so we will see if that works this time too.

I took some quick measurements yesterday so I will post them and re-measure on the June thread to compare. I'll have Tom take some font, side, and back pics too for monthly comparisons

No way! Normally we in Cali are the only ones to really get the shaft. This stuff has gotta stop! Thank God that I don't commute anymore. I would hate to see what my gas bill would be! ICK!!!

What carb blockers do you use?

What has your menu been lately, just so I can see if I can improve somewhere?

Thanks, Trisha!!!

Kycowgirl, i ordered some carb blockers and i made sure label said Phase2. I ordered the Irwin brand (?). They should arrive any day now so i will use these and be able to eat pasta again. I have some low carb pasta, but it's just not the same ;-)

I also ordered a nice supply of pork rinds.. for snacking.

WTG on the msmts Kycowgirl!

I use the Phase 2 from netrition. Walmart carb intercept are good too.

For breakfast I always eat an omelete (eggbeaters) with cheese and some kind of meat. Sausage, canadian bacon, bacon bits, or turkey bacon. I may add steel cut oats again. The were so good and didnt hurt me last time. The fiber in them actually helped

Lunch is some kind of LC wrap. I like them with tuna or lean lunch meats and a slice of swiss/portabella cheese. I use LC ranch dressing for seasoning. Or I eat a salad with chicken, shredded cheese, almond slivers, and LC dressing. Sometimes I'll eat a LC yogurt too

Tuna or Salmon muffins are delicious for dinner. Usually we have a grilled meat, fake mashed taters (made with cauliflower) and a veggie or a salad. Tom gets alot of good recipes from Linda Sues site. The meatloaf is one of our favorites, with LC catsup.

I only drink 2 Zero soft drinks a day, green tea and water. Oh and my calorie countdown milk with my cla/gla

I snack on BBQ pork rinds, or Trader Joes spicy flax chips. They are LC. we love the flax chips on a plate with salsa and cheese on top, warmed in the microwave

Ahhhh. Sounds perfect! I only shop at Trader Joe's and another health food/organic grocer called Jimbos, here in San Diego.

Isn't Trader Joe's just the best??? I didn't know they had them there! How cool!!!

Thanks so much for the info! I am going to Netrition in a sec to get the Phase two! Thanks again, Trisha!

I have to go to work now, but tomorrow I'll let you know what else we get from Trader Joes. What else do you get there? We love them, and have to drive 70 miles for the closest one. My mom lives near there so we stock up when we go see her

I literally get 90% of my groceries there. Mainly from the outter sides of the store. All of my salads, cheeses, turkey bacon, non-processed sandwich meats, low carb tortillas, fish, veggies, dairy, you name it. I love their pre-bagged green beans and zucchini that you just throw in the mirco, and eat. We get a lot of things here that they probably don't sell everywhere else but I am sure it works vice-versa. They are headquartered in Monrovia, which is a couple hours north of us, and we get a lot of cool stuff here in SoCal.

I too have a drive to get to mine. An hour and a half each way but I LOVE it and wouldn't trade it for any other store.

When I have a "Free" day I go for their Orange Chicken or Enchiladas. The best part is their foods are all pretty healthy with little or no processing. Gotta love it!
