My CLA/GLA experiment

Well, after reading all the glowing results of GLA/CLA I decided to bite the bullet and try it out for myself.

Tonalin CLA from GNC (2000 mg) 2 pills every morning
GNC Borage Oil (GLA 212mg) 3 pills morning, 2 evening

Started on Feb 1st and told myself I'd give it a month (I know, they say wait 12 weeks) before measuring myself.

Well, I immediately noticed a weight stall, and I was not (and am not) happy about that. Nothing worse than exercising 6 days a week and seeing no weight drop.

Today, something unusual happened. My workout shorts slid down off my hips on the treadmill! (Thank Gawd I was the only one at the gym at 8 a.m.!!) I decided to measure my waist when I got home....

....ever had one of those moments where your eyes SEE something but your brain refuses to BELIEVE it?...

I've lost 2.5 inches off my waist in the past 24 days. I am dumbfounded!

Folks, I BELIEVE in CLA/GLA!!

Question

The best deal I found on Borage oil are pills that contain 300mg of GLA per pill. Should I alternate taking 3 pills per day (900mg) with taking 4 pills per day (1,200mg)?

welcome to the thread WolfmanJacque !!! Thank you so much for sharing that with us. So many get so discouraged by the numbers on the scale they dont realise they are losing inches and thats whats important. Stick with it and the scale will start dropping too. when I was taking it faithfully, i dropped 20 pounds and went from a size tight 18 to a loose 14 in 2 months. Although I have not been eating right at all, and take the combo when I remember, I have only went up to a size 16. I can wear 14's but they are tight. Thats my fault for eating so trashy. Keep us posted on further results please

you can try that. as long as you get between 500 and 1000 a day you should do fine. 500 worked great for Tom, but I needed more

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I'm down another pound in the past 3 days but it's was that time of the month thingy again. I can't wait for menopause I'm so cold natured, I'm looking forward to hot flashes (giggle, giggle).

Trish, from the looks of your av you have a few years before you get there lol. I am cold natured too, but trust me, those hot flashes are no fun !! Just imagine a furnace igniting inside you and instant sweating and no way to cool off UHG !!! Congrats on another pound gone

(Tom & I both hit the big "50" this year )

Well, I haven't lost but 9 pounds -- but I have lost 13.5 inches!!

6" was in my waist -- likely bloating due to a crap diet (I started low carb at the end of Jan).

It is a combination measure -- using the T-Tapp measurement as standard. This is a combination effort of the T-Tapp (4 days), CLA/GLA (2 weeks) and Colonix (2 weeks) as well as removing all of the carb toxins from my diet.

I'm back!!!!

Trisha, Tom and Michelle!!! I don't know if you guys remember me! I sure have missed my contact with you guys. I have been off low-carb for almost a year now (thank god I have only gained 5 of the 30 pounds that I lost!!) I'm sorry I just dropped out of sight. I have checked in once in a while to make sure you guys are still kicking. You all look so great in your pics. I will be posting again now. I finally have my computer all to myself. I am going to start taking the combo again too. Are there any new developments or new cool combos I should check out? Again, I have missed you guys so much.

If your body is handling it well, it should be ok. I take cla/gla, flax oil and I used to take the fish oil too, but ran out but I am going to order more.

I'm ready for warmer weather.

Well I still continue to drop. At my last post I weighed 230 and this morning I weighed 227.5. I added it Up, I started taking the GLA on February 18 so today it would make it 10 days and I've lost 5 lbs so far which has been about a half a pound a day. Is this about typical?

I did put on a pair of size 20 jeans and they about swollowed me. That felt good. I also dug out an old pair of size 12's that I hope to get into by this summer. Then I will post my before and after pics

Ps -- that isn't a joke. The basis of the study was that once people know a language well enough, their eyes go to the first and last letter only and their mind fills in the word.

I can read this without any problem, but gave it to a coworker whose head almost exploded (she is VERY detail oriented)!
