Thanks JessieBear. Note taken.

I really need to stop smoking too. I just don't want to right now. I'm down another half pound today. I want to thank you guys so much for posting on this site. It feels good just to really see the scales moving. I didn't really expect a half a pound a day but I'm not going to complain.

Trish, your one of the lucky ones. It usually causes a scale stall for a bit. It didnt with me too much, but it did for most.

Hey..I lurk on this subject..am I wasting my time taking a lower dosage? Is this helping me at all?

CLA - 2400
GLA - 1000

I take tonalin and borage..is this helping me at all? I've been consistent in taking it for over 5 weeks now but I don't see it helping.

What is this Chantix that you all are talking about? Is it a herb or a prescription drug? I have never heard of it.
Check out these threads about Chantix...amazing results !!!

Hi everyone. I've been thinking about supplementing with CLA and GLA. Actually, I've already started the CLA supplements (4.44 g per day). I curious about whether it's better to take both of them (synergistic effects) or if you will see benefits from just taking one?

I have IBS, so any time there's possible stomach upset as a side effect, I get it.
Can anyone answer the question I posted earlier?

sorry SAGlaze, I thought I answered you. You do need to take the cla & gla together. some have tried just the cla and didnt have any results till they added the gla (borage Oil) They work as a team

Sorry, you might have and I missed it.

I think that's going on with me. I've been taking a CLA supplement that has 2.22 grams in 3 pills. I've been taking 5 pills per day, so that's 3.7 grams per day. I've been taking them for about 2 weeks now and I'm still in my stall (5.5 weeks and counting) and have been yo-yoing between 183 and 186. I want to order some GLA, but need to wait until the end of the month (pay day) since I want to order several bottles at once to save on shipping.

Should I just stop taking the CLA until I get the GLA?

If your not seeing any results, I would wait till you get the gla to take with it. 2 weeks isnt much time to see results. The research says 12 weeks, but I started seeing good results in about 3 weeks. I took this combo along with strict LC'ing for 3 months and lost 20 pounds. My dh lost 30 in that time. It works !!! Right now, I have alot of stress in my life and I just cant get back to LC'ing so I am at a self-imposed stall myself. Hopefully the warmer weather will get me motivated again.

I'm reposting my before and after pics from oct-dec 2005 while I was doing it the right way. I kick myself in the butt everytime I look at them and imagine where I would be if I hadn't fell off plan I really loved how it shapes and defines the waist....

Wow, that's a pretty incredible change!

Now I'm torn. If the research says 12 weeks and you started seeing results in 3, I don't know if I should stop the CLA.

At least you know why you're stalling. I lost 9 lbs on my re-induction, lost 3 more lbs, then just totally stalled for over 5 weeks. (No lbs or inches.) I actually started a meat/egg fast today to see if I can get things moving.

You dont have to stop the cla. Thats just what I would do since so many said they had no results with just the cla, and it isnt cheap. It wont be long before you can get the borage oil gla to go with it. I bet you start seeing good results once you add the gla.

Yeah, the expense is why I thought I should stop it until I get the GLA.

Trisha,
Your pics are amazing. Thanks for posting them. I have been slacking in the combo for the past couple of days, but you've made me run to take it!!

Good luck with the Chantix and let us know how it goes. I'm taking buproprion (generic wellbutrin/zyban) and have been smoke free for 18 days! It is so worth it to try everything you can in order to quit.

Hi oklahomabethie,

You take Chantix alone. It will block the patch from being effective -- you just keep smoking until you don't want to smoke anymore.

Hi oklahomabethie,

You will not be able to find this online. Pfizer just got FDA clearance to sell it last fall and they have a patent for (I believe) 8 years on it.

Heya girl,

I misunderstood ya -- I thought you meant as a generic.

That is pricy!

Mine cost $40 for the first month and then $80 for the next 3 months (through my insurance). Difference of $50 bucks AND 90 days.

Good....
My husband is really cheap believe it or not.
$5.00 a pack 100% it works. $100.00 it may not..
I know he wouldnt go for it. Your price sounds better
but he would have to see a doctor.
HHHmmmmm

hi guys.
I have been taking the combo on and off for a while and I was pretty sure that I was seeing decent results. However, I have PCOS and I was reading som information regarding this that said that CLA increses insulin resistance, which is a major issue for me. Does anyone know about this??

I dont really know about this. Although most of us dont have any problems with it, I do suggest that anyone with any health issues talk to their doctor or at least do your own research about any conflicts that taking this combo with their meds might cause. Just to be on the safe side. I did talk to my doctor first and he said its all natural and nothing I should be concerned about. But someone on meds may have a different reaction

I have a question...
If I run out of borage oil can I switch to
