anybody experience bloating and gas with inulin. i do, but it really does away with my appetite. i take about 1 teaspoon in the afternoon to help out when i get home from the gym after work, which is when i get the munchies and it really works. i guess i can take the bloating but the gas is a different story. any suggestions

I think inulin is a probiotic which works on the intestines and usually (for a lot of people)all those prebiotics have to be taken with a small dosage to begin with and gradually bring the dose up when the symptoms disappear. It is normal at first.

Good Afternoon,

I looked everywhere here ( Northern ontario canada) couldnt find the Inulin powder so i tried to find Surefibre by metamucil and still not available here but i did find benefibre its says ingredients are Inuling only, is that ok? I know someone said its not the same so how come its inulin as an ingredient?

Thanks
Lizett

I use the sugarfree FiberChoice Plus Calcium which is inulin.

I started with just one a day, and had some gassy side effects, but now can take 2 a day (one at lunch, one at dinner) without any problems.

I'd have to say at this point though it doesn't seem to curb my appetite as it did when I first started with it - guess I'm used to it by now - but I take it for the probiotic effects and also inulin is supposed to help with calcium absorption (which is why I get the one with! )
