Primrose oil has 10-12 % GLA

Borage oil and Blackcurrent seed oil has 23% GLA

Are the reccommended dosages for all weights and weight loss goals? I am thinking about trying this but I don't have alot to lose...more so belly fat than weight b/c I currently weigh around 115 and am 5'2 but still have a good amount of belly/hip fat I want to lose. Should I take a lower dosage, or is this CLA/GLA combo only reccommended for people with alot to lose? I read alot of people lose inches rather than weight though.

Oh, and do I need to change anything to my diet...I'm not on Atkins or anything, I am just eating healthy foods, moderate carbs, and fairly low calorie.

ok... so i went to wally world today and bought a bottle of cla 1000mg. and borage oil 500mg. im sorry if my question is the same as someone else's but will someone please tell me how i should start off taking these??
the directions of the cla says to take 2 twice daily (preferably with meals) and the borage oil says to take 1capsule 2-3 times a day (preferably with meals).
i did not see the liquid form of this at wal-mart so i just got the gel-caps. and i have seen on the threads that people have increased the recommended doses. so any light that could be shed on this subject would be greatly appreciated. thanks..

The only place I have seen the liquid cla is Netrition. You need to read the back of the bottles for the actual cla and gla content and go from there. 3400mg for the cla, and 500-1000mg for the gla

Join us on the cla/gla thread. There are lots of members there that would be glad to help you with anymore questions

I was just reading all the information in this thread on the CLA/GLA combo.

I understand that the CLA helps burn the fat, but what is the purpose of the GLA?

Some people said the CLA does not work by itself. I'm confused.

The cla is supposed to flush the fat from the cells and the gla prevents regain. The cells fill with water, thats why there is a scale stall untill the water lets loose with ocassional whooshes. Hope this helps. I'm not real good at explaining stuff This will explain better than I can....

GLA/CLA question.....

Hello amigos.

I have almost a week on the combo and I am experiencing terrible thirst….. Is it a normal side effect?

I guess is not a bad one because it makes me drink more water, but I just want to confirm if it is normal.

Besos

I haven't heard of anyone else being very thirsty with this combo. Try asking on the Waisting away with cla/gla thread and maybe someone there can answer that for you.

I lost 2 inches overall the first week, but someone that started at the same time as me lost 6 inches. Maybe it depends how much fat is on your body. I'm not reallly sure.

I have been taking the cla/gla combo (1/2 tbls of cla and 2-240 borage oil soft gels from netrition) almost one week. I have lost five pounds. Before taking the combo I was stalled for about one month or more. I have not taken my measurements but I can tell an almost immediate difference.

Hi everyone, I am going to try the CLA/GLA combo.

I had to go to our local health food store and the brand they had there was Natural Factors CLA. They are 1000mg soft gels should I take 3 or 4 of these?

Another question, I live in a very small area and we have no carb control milk (they stopped carrying it after the low carb craze subsided a few years ago). Is any dairy okay to take it with, such as cheese?

Thank you

aingael, look on the back of the cla bottle for the actual cla amount and go from there. 3400mg a day is what you need. The LC milk, is now called "calorie countdown" milk. Same stuff, different name. Its made by Hood. You dont have to take it with milk, but do take it with a protein to prevent that yucky first few days indigestion.

Thanks for answering me. That is what I thought but I wanted to make sure. The capsules have 780mg of CLA so I will start out taking 4 and see how it goes.

The hood milk hasn't been carried here for a while and it is a shame, I LOVED the chocolate milk.

Thank you for all the help.

Nah, but the combination of the two seems to work more effectively than either on their own.

Definitely check out page 1 of the link provided by Trisha in post 166. Lots of info about the why's of GLA
