Protein Shakes

Is it possible/healthy to try and lose weight just using protein shakes supplemented with vitamin tablets for a shortish introductory period?

I'm a busy vegetarian and haven't got the chance to prepare lunchtime food at work.

Well, for a very short period of time, I would think. Maybe you can make some homemade V8 using fresh vegetables to add to your nourishment.
