Cholesterol and LC vegetarianism

I'm back, again. I was here back in 2007/2008 and did a pretty good job at losing weight. I never managed to get to goal, but that was ok. I even managed to keep it off for a few years.

Now I have a new challenge. I'm a vegetarian. I will make exceptions for fish though. I would prefer to limit my intake of eggs and cheese, as I was trying to go vegan, and I know what goes on with producing those items.

I started putting more weight on once I eliminated meat. I've decided that because I am insulin resistant, low carb may be something I always have to do.

I'm concerned about my cholesterol though. I have enough issues, I don't need that going back up. Has anyone seen an increase in cholesterol while doing LC vegetarian?

Thanks for any input!

My cholesterol went up. If you read down a few threads you will see my story. I've come to the conclusion it's not necessarily a bad thing. The type of LDL and your ratios are most significant. I eat fish, eggs and cheese, no poultry or red meat. I've lost about 70 lbs in the last year. Still working on it. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! I did see your thread which is why I was concerned. :) I have PCOS and I'm hypothyroid/hashimotos, so I really didn't want to add more to my medical issues. I'm going with it anyway and hoping for the best. I guess as long as my ratios are good, so am I. :)
