Do my fellow vegetarian low-carbies find that you end up eating very few calories? I ate 974 calories yesterday, even though I ate when I was hungry and consumed lots of fat, etc. Yesterday in particular was a bit different, because I was actually (for once) well under my net carb limit of 30. Here is my menu:
B: Zucchini omelet (4 net carbs, 201 calories)
S: no snack
L: Salad - spring mix, peppers, salsa, cucumbers, goat cheese, Ranch dressing (7 net carbs, 288 calories)
S: tsp of natural almond butter (1 net carb)
D: Salad - romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomato, peppers, paneer (10 net carbs, 259 calories)
S: Scrambled egg (1 net carb, 176 calories)
Total: 23 net carbs, 974 calories
I added as much fat as possible. I am eating much more fat now than I was before I started low-carbing it (of course). Still, my calories remain low, and as I am fairly new at this WOE, I'm not sure if I should worry about it too much. Will I be entering "starvation mode"? Should I try to increase my calories somehow, or is it all good?
Perhaps it is all good, because I was down 3.5 pounds this morning. :)

I don't know you height and your weight, but I also eat about that amount of calories a day...I try to reach 1000 though.
I don't think you'll be entering "stravation mode" so quickly (I think it happens with fewer calories and more time), but maybe you should ask you doctor/an expert?
I am not counting calories but I know I eat quite a lot because I love cheese and nuts which are both very high in fat/calories.
Not sure about your body going into starvation mode. You certainly eat tiny portions in my opinion (portion control isn't my strength) but what you eat looks very healthy and varied.
Your scales are telling you that for the moment at least you are doing the right thing.
Thanks guys! Because my weight is pretty high, I believe it should be okay to stick around 1000 calories. Nellie - I'm not sure that I eat tiny portions! I always eat until I'm full, and my salads are often decent-sized. It's difficult to keep the carbs down when I eat so many vegetables!
