I'm not really a fan of raw veggies, so I was wondering if anyone has some yummy simple things to make that would be a great snack.
I don't really want to do the whole egg or string cheese thing since I get tired of those REALLY fast. I'm more wanting to do something veggie related so its healthier.
Any help would be great!
Edit - Cheap things would be great too since I'm pretty broke right now since most of my money is going in to savings so I can move in a month.
Lots of snacks I can think of! but you ruled out anything except veggies and "cheap" snacks that are "not boring" on your list - really not giving yourself many options. And veggies are not cheap ..
I found a new snack my youngest dd is obsessed with lol, Annie Chun's wasabi seaweed .. except that the whole 2-serving pack gets eaten immediately upon purchase, lol! They have it at netrition and also at the supermarket.
whey protein shake made with protein powder
celery sticks alone or with a little pb
nuts - 100 calorie packs are good for portion control
cold baked tofu with dipping sauce
and the boring snacks you mention ... food is not supposed to be entertainment or solace or anything else but filling a nutritional need .. that is how we got here in the first place, probably ..

The reason it has to be cheap is I only have $50 a week to make breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for 2 people. And he can eat a lot! We have no money and cant stay in our apartment anymore (they are raising the rent again and we can't afford it) so now we have to move and need to come up with a deposit and first month's rent by the end of this month. Not fun.
I have been doing lots of shakes and nuts/seeds for now (almost out of nut and seeds tho) but trying to think of new things (besides eggs and string cheese, when I did Atkins the first time, when I ate meat, those were always my go to foods and yeah, now they make me sick)
I'll try the tofu again since I know how to cook it now. I think I might actually like it!
Gotcha - but if budgetary issues are your main concern, then eggs, string cheese, and some non-vegetarian options (tuna) would be your best go-to options. I certainly understand your preferences. I don't prefer any of those things either.

What about things like pickles? I also like cheese sticks cut in to pieces and microwaved into crackers to eat with hummus or artichoke dip.
