i found them! yeay!
only problem is i had to do the lot of the pack, these things are indestructible!!! they broke my kitchen scissors!! so i did have with tofu last night, they were very nice.
Anyone know some fun things to do with the rest, like could i make some sort of burger? or is there a sauce i can make that would go nice with quorn mince? (i dont eat tomatos on my diet :/)

Oh I am so sorry Rua!!!! I looked them up and they are made from beans ..
but it did remind of something I discovered in Ireland in 2003 .. you can order a regular chinese stirfry - ask for no rice - and you can pour it over a dish of sauteed mung bean sprouts which was offered as a side dish at 2 chinese I ate at in different towns (and I had only been on Atkins for a month at that point! lol!):
Mung bean sprouts (1 cup):
4.3 net carbs
I generally try to avoid Chinese - even the amazing vegetarian buffets you can find in this country just due to the amount of sugar in the sauces .. but it is another thing you can try at home as a base for asian-inspired dishes if you can find them in the market. They have a distinct taste which I do not think would go with other ethnic foods .. Here in the U.S. they are near the tofu in the cold case of the produce section .. they look like this:

yes we have those bean sprouts, you can get them in all chinese i think, i wouldnt be crazy about them, remind me of onions and i cant stand onions! lol
