TVP
Just wondering, has anyone tried to make sushi with TVP (using it instead of rice)? If so, how did you do it?
What about jerky? |

There is a TVP jerky recipe online. I haven't made it, but it looks decent.
If I can locate it again, I'll post it here for you. I found it by accident and saved it, but my pc crashed, but I'll try to find it again. Okay, found it. Pleasantly Plump Vegan: TVP: CHUNKS VS. GRANULES (they both win) I do have a faux fish recipe and a fish and chips, but they are not low carb and I haven't made either of them, if you are interested. |

Seriously?! I googled TVP jerky like crazy and couldn't find a thing!!! The Primal Strips they sell at the local store are great for keeping in my trunk when I get stuck at a meeting till 11PM but, at $1.50 a piece (being a poor college student and all), I am lucky if I can get more than one.
If you could find that recipe I will love you forever!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for that recipe Nigel! I was actually trying to figure out how to do it with TVP granules. Maybe if I skipped the draining step....
I'll try it and let you know. Also, fish sounds interesting. Do you think it'd taste anything like fish? It would be nice to try some cauliflower rice sushi. I would love the recipe! ![]() |

I have a recipe for TVP "Risotto"....which is Awesome! The way I make it, it comes out to about 6-7NC per serving. (very generous serving). It has mushrooms and chicken in it.
