Congratulations on the scale drop!!

Pauline

p.s. I voted for your recipe on that recipe site! Although it killed me to look at that chocolate mousse tart for too long .. I am going to try your chcolate mousse recipe that's further down the page when I remember to buy the correct tofu .. I usually keep "firm" tofu in the house for stir frys and don't usually buy the soft one ..

today i did it... i managed my carb count so i could have a tiny little APPLE
God i miss fruits ! so i skipped carb for lunch and used my carb count for an apple at 5pm happy me

anyway, here's my menu :
B = LC bread with cheese
L = smoky tofu + 1 soya yogurt
Snack = an apple
Diner = Rose Elliot's daikon 'fetuccine' with vegan alfredo sauce

This afternoon I tried to make home-made soya yogurt... i don't have (yet) a yogurt maker so i used the oven... hope it will work ! I have to wait 2 more hours to take them out from the oven...

+ i did drink plenty of water !

i have the worst headache now so let's hope it's the ketosis kicking in !!

good night
Could I get the Rose Elliot's LC bread recipe please?
If it's okay to give it to me.

Sure, no problem ! The book is my bible now, I should spread the good word

WHEAT & BRAN LOW CARB BREAD
(for a 12 slices loaf)
115g (4oz) wheat gluten powder
85g (3oz) soya protein isolate powder
28g (1oz) flax seed ground to a powder
55g (2oz) coarse wheat bran
2x6g packet 'easy bake' yeast
1 t salt
3 T olive oil
250ml (9fl oz) warm water

1 - put the yeast in a small bowl with a 2 T of water, leave for 5mn
2 - mix all dry ingredients
3 - add the olive oil
4 - add the water and mixto get a dough (you don't need to knead much)
5 - form the dough into a loaf shape and put into a greased tin
6 - cover and leave to rise for 45mn minimum in a warm place
7 - bake for 45min at 180° (350°)

the book says 2,2g carbs and 14,6g protein per slice. I made slimmer slices so i feel i'm having more !!

Bonjour !
I was so busy yesterday evening that i forgot to post my menu

B = home made yogurt with 1 slice of LC bread
L = tuna sandwich (with flax bread - recipe available on you tube !)
D = tomato soup with grilled halloumi

I didn't drink enough yesterday, I felt it as I went to bed and got the consequences on the scale : went up again

I'm afraid my dear BF is gonna take me out tonight... I'll have to manage that somehow !

Have a nice day everyone

Hello everyone, hello dantan !

I don't buy 'low carb' stuff per se. I get my flax seed, oat bran and soya stuff from the "magasin bio" around the corner. The only thing i ordered was some soya isolate powder that i ordered from England (Holland & B.) they ship abroad for not that much (it still was cheaper than the weird stuff i found on the french internet)
As for the low fat dairy I do find everything I want and I now make my own yogurt ! FYI For all the recipe that ask for cream cheese I get 'st moret' cheese !

anyway, people ! i have a problem... I'm stuck and going up... again ! it drives me crazy cause i've be counting my carbs and everything...

to give you an idea (I am supposed to be at 25g/day) :

monday carbs 23g, proteins 70g
tuesday carbs 22g, proteins 75g
wednesday carbs22g, proteins 65g
thursday carbs 19g, proteins 50g
friday carbs 18g (carbs from wine 10g), proteins 60g
saturday carbs 24g (carbs from wine 4g), proteins 60g

so i have made few hypothesis :
1 - not enough proteins to get my ketosis working
2 - not enough water to drain everything
3 - i have a really nasty metabolism that understood it's on a diet... I found few pages advocating for 1 carby meal a week, to break the metabolic rate reduction and fool the body... sounds clever, i've always been on a diet and my body knows it, it can live with 500kcal/day ! has anyone tried this ??

anyway, today i have my zumba class so at least i'll get to move my booty

have a good sunday

Good evening everyone...

Not a lot of comments recently ! that's ok, i'm gonna go on my monologue

First : yesterday's menu !
B = LC pancakes
L = home made soja steak with a little cauliflower rice & cheese
D = CARBY DINER !!! I decided to give a try to the 'One carby meal a week' theory ! I've always got better results with diets that allow one "normal" meal a week + my boyfriend kept asking for home made hamburgers... so I made some, from scratch (by witch i mean buns)... Mine was "quinoa burger" of course, no meat at home !! you can see the recipe on my blog

this morning the scale went down, a good way to start the week !
and i had :
B = soya shake
L = cheese omelette + flax bread
D = shirataki bolognese (tofu style)
going light after yesterday's crazyness !

have a good week everyone

sometimes I have to eat carbs to stop a stall
I eat half a baked potato or a slice of multi-grain bread
or an ear of corn, stuff like that.

It might not work for everyone, but it does work for me. I don't know what else to do about stalls.

At one time I found out I wasn't eating enough, so I upped my protein and veggies and started losing again. I think my body type goes into starvation mode (like a bear's does) and then I need to eat more to get back on track.

Also, if you feel tired, you might need salt.

Today's menu...

I didn't want to go out grocery shopping today so my menu was a bit... weird. I stayed low carb but i'm not really proud of it ! definitely not enough proteins here !

B = all bran cereals (7g carbs worth - reaaaaaally needed it...) + home made yogurt
L = left over guacamole (2 tbsp) with flax-bread and cheese. lots of cheese !
D = cauliflower-parmegiano soup

I'm afraid i did not get enough protein today but i did not feel like having tofu and had nothing else in my fridge !!

oh ! and i went to a Zumba class ! good exercize

'morning everyone

I feel -a little- guilty because of yesterday's party...
I went there knowing it would be my "carby meal" of the week but still...
I had 3 glasses of wine, 2 small spring rolls, 2 dumplings (all home made) and ... a piece of an amaaaaazing "charlotte au caramel" my friend made...

so well, today i plan on drinking 3 liters of water and OD on proteins hope it'll be alright !

have a good sunday everyone

I noticed I was a bit late on the menu diary

so !!

sunday (TDATCM : the day after the carby meal !)
B= a little All Bran cereal
L= tuna mayo & boiled egg with flax bread
D= letuce & shrimps + yogurt

today
B= LC bread & cheese
L= Fried tofu + letuce, cheese & home made yogurt
D= pizza-like-omelette & home made yogurt
snack = LC muffin (less than 2g carbs a piece !!)

and by the way, the scale went under the 61kg today again, 60,8 to be precise ! no carby meal consequence... so far

thank you Lisa I have to say I'm proud to live in such a beautiful city ^^

today's menu :
B = LC bread & cheese
L = (at university ... dangerous but for once, they had something LC !) fish+3 T zucchini & yogurt
D = cauliflower curry soup with flax bread & yogurt

I went to my zumba class tonight but I couldn't move ! I interpreted at the OECD this morning (classy isn't it !) but simultaneous interpreting needs so much energy, you can't imagine ! I am ready to go to bed already (it's 9pm here !!)

BTW : I was still at 60,8 today... but i'd like to see the 59,9 soon ! simply because this weekend we are going away, we're going to Croatia !! (the tiny little country between italia and greece) and i'm scare the local diet is gonna be realllly carby !

Hello all ! Or as they say in Croatia "Dobar Dan" !

The trip was amazing ! incredibly cold (around -10°C) but really nice, and the food was .... waowwwww !!!

I'm not gonna lie to you... It was carby, fat, sweet and pretty alcoholized

Let's get back to low carb ! we'll see how crazy the scale goes tomorrow but I used so much energy to warm my body that it might be not so bad... Anyway we'll see !!

Hello Annie,
I am a new comer on this forum and I was wondering if there was any french people and I found you. I am living in Cannes.
Could you tell me a bit more about Rose Elliott. I am more of a vegetarian than a meat eater and would love to be able to eat LC vegetarian food. But I haven't a clue how to do that.
I have been on the Ducan Diet for quite a while, lost a lot of pounds but put it back again because I ate too much of sugary foods but also because it was based on animal protein which I am not fond of, so I grew tired of this way of eating and went back to my old habits.
I know LC should be the way I should eat to loose and maintain my weight.
Thanks for your help
