Adrenal Fatigue

Hi,
I've been treated for Adrenal fatigue, using Isocort to help my low cortisol level... Apparently they've changed the formula for Isocort now. I'm wondering if any of you have found a better treatment for this?
Thanks

Debby....there is an adrenals group in the yahoo groups....they really were helpful to me when I had major issues. Doing fine now. I went through many protocols. I assume you did the 4 times a day testing so that you would have a baseline? And you didn't take any supplements to help out for 2 months before testing? It's no fun, but you can come out of it very nicely...keep plugging along and find the yahoo adrenals group!

Thanks Shelley, I'll look.
I originally went to a naturopath who did the tests & diagnosed me. I was doing great on Isocort. But now they've changed the formula. Rather than go back & pay the 80% mark-up... I am just trying to figure out what people here switched to... there was a gal that also takes it all the time, but I can't remember her name.
Thanks for answering.

I was able to go off of Isocort and have been taking Licorice, Ashwaghanda, and Rhiodiola instead.
I have felt back to normal for a while now.

Good for you! Licorice gave me extreme high blood pressure. It was so yummy too!

Be very cautious with taking licorice. I ended up feeling like I had a massive heart attack. Upon research, all my symptoms were from the licorice and it's well known for causing false heart attack symptoms if taken longer than 6-7 weeks.

Was a disaster for me.

Check out the yahoo site.....they have lots of alternatives...which I used...and which worked great (cheap too!!!)

Look for natural thyroid hormone adrenals. I can't post the website here, but just search for that in the yahoo groups. I went to it with my bookmarks. It is a yahoo group. It still is apparently up and running still. there's lots to see on the site, so hope you find it easily.

Yes, Licorice seems to be a problem for many. I am wondering if you were taking it for high or low cortisol? MIne was low at all four times of the day.

I was taking a highly concentrated form of it for low cortisol. The isocort really made me feel great, but I think now that the formula is changed its not working. Have gone back to feeling not so good.
I found the yahoo site & got a good lead on my question
Will be ordering soon.
