How long after taking meds to have labs drawn for accuracy?

Having blood drawn tomorrow and I normally take my meds at 0900. Is it 5 hours after taking T3 and T4 or what is the time you need to wait? I can't recall and it's been a long time. Looks like a lot of the threads have been thinned out.

I'll take them earlier if I need to. I just need a little guidance.

Thanks for your help.

You need to talk to the specific doc who will be interpreting the results. THey should tell you when to take the meds. Obviously, the test results will mean very different things if taken BEFORE the meds or when they are at their peak!

I have had no luck with this, myself. My doctors do not have a set idea of when the meds should be taken. Which is very disturbing, because you can't gauge what's going on without that information!

I hate to put it this way, but it sort of depends on what result you want. My docs are always trying to cut my T3 to the point that I GAIN WEIGHT madly and I hate that. I have to be careful not to have too much of the drug in my at my blood draw or it will be 6 months of too little T3 and gaining weight and all the other hypo symptoms.

I sometimes do the tests before taking the pills, or as the last poster said, 5 hours or so afterwards when the T3 has peaked and largely gone.
