Non gmo soy

Ok, so a friend of mine is starting to sell those body by v i shakes and is pushing that they are safe for thyroid patients to consume....what is your take? I still think NO, but I'm just not sure.

Even if it's non GMO...soy itself is what's known as a 'goitrogen'. In other words, it inhibits thyroid hormone making properties.

So..um...nope...any soy (except fermented sources, like soy sauce) with it being 'estrogenic' binds thyroid hormones in the bloodstream. And if you are replaced already by thyroid hormones, incoming phytoestrogens (like birth control) will bind it in the bloodstream and make a portion (or most of it in some individuals) unusable to the bodies' cells.

There are many choices of great protein shakes that use whey protein in them, not soy.

Thanks!! Thats what i thought and tried to explain but she just keeps sending me link after link to that companies website saying oh no, its fine we remove the isoflavones, yada yada....so i figured i'd post here and see what the experts had to say!
