<0.2 DHEA-S...What's going on?

It's always something new to research with this endocrine crap. I have Hashi's and just got my DHEA tested for the first time (finally found a doc who seems to know what's going on) and this came up. I'm waiting for the doc to call me back to talk this over, but would like to get a jump start on researching what this means and what I need to do about it.

Lab range 98.8-340.0
My result was <0.2

I have other labs, too, that I can post if anyone's particularly interested, including a high AM blood cortisol (I know, I'll ask about saliva) that came back wonky, but I'm particularly interested in this DHEA.

And FWIW, he wants female hormones tested, but I was just past the time of month to do it. Will be done this next month.

Not sure if anyone can help, but y'all were the first I thought to ask when this came back (thanks to you guys, I got myself diagnosed with hashi's a few years ago when none of my docs knew how to test for it).

If anyone has any thoughts, I'm all ears (so to speak).

interesting. I have never had my dhea tested, but I take a supplement. I was suffering post-menopausal memory problem (COULD NOT THINK OF THE WORD I WANTED AND DROVE ME CRAZY.) Because of another issue I have, my endo did not want to give me estrogen. so instead he recommended DHEA which is a precursor to both estrogen and testosterone. It seems to work for me.

good luck!

Thanks, ravenrose. I'm having the same trouble. Among other things. LOL

Thanks, Ileen. I started on DHEA today, so we'll see how it goes.
