Trying to find a great doc in North or South Carolina

We're near Charlotte, which is on the border between NC and SC. I'm willing to drive if needed, and if absolutely necessary to pay out of pocket for a couple of consultations so that I can get a plan that can be monitored by my PCM. The potential options I've found on Mary Shomon's website seem to be not accepting patients or are otherwise not options for me.

I would really appreciate any help or recommendations from anyone. I'm also open to various specialties rather than endocrinology--OB/GYN, PCM, holistic, integrative, etc.

Thank you so much for any insight or advice you can provide. Best to you....

Amy - I am near Raleigh and while I can't recommend the dr. I found *yet*, as I only had one visit, she ordered all the blood tests people on here talk about without me having to ask, so I see that as a good sign. I was recently dx'd with Hashimoto's by a primary care dr. and am pretty symptomatic of hypo so I really wanted someone to get to the bottom of things.
I will pass on her name once I have a little more experience with her. She is a gynecologist and I chose her by looking up drs who prescribe bioidentical hormones - I figured if they were willing to consider that then they might have open minds about thyroid. So even if you can't find a recommended dr. on Shomon's list you migh find someone that way. And if worse comes to worse I can send you the name of my old dr. in Fayetteville, who I loved but is too far from me to really want to drive.

Agee, I would greatly appreciate that info when you feel it's a good fit for you! Thank you so much. We nearly moved to Raleigh, so I'm happy to go back there. :)
