Need advice

Hi- I am in upstate SC and have been dx hypo for two and half years. My internist has had me on Synthroid first 50 then 75 and now 88 mcg in that time frame. In that time I have gained almost 30 pounds. My fatigue and general crappy feeling seems to get worse when she increases my dose. Also I have asked her about my free t3 results but all she says is give the T4 time to work! I am obviously looking to change primary Docs and would appreciate any advice for docs in SC. I think two years of worsening symptoms and weight gain are enough.

My labs from January:

TSH - 2.53
FT4. - 1.0
FT3. - 2.7
Thanks for any and all advice. We primarily eat Paleo in this house. With a major lapse over Christmas but back on the program now.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. My hypo symptoms became worse on Synthroid too. Some of us don't convert the t4 into t3 as others. You definitely need to switch out your meds.
I don't know any doctor referrals where you are but hopefully someone will jump in and help you out with that.

There are some good drs listed here for S.C.. do a search on the forum for either a big city or just S.C or written out.

Another option is to call local compounding pharmacies and get some recommendation for them. They often work closely with the good drs.
