Powdered Protein Drinks -- No Soy ??

I like to drink a protein drink first thing in the morning, but all the good ones are soy based--a no no for hypothyroid people.

Do you have a good, powdered high protein drink (tastes good, choc or strawb) WITHOUT ANY SOY that is easily accessible?

Thanks!

I tried and tried, but couldn't find one that I liked. I asked my homeopath about soy and thyroid, and she told me if it was non GMO and organic, and it was just that one drink that it would be ok. I tried going with out soy protein for over two months and was miserable, because I like the taste so much better with the soy brands. I didn't feel any different, and my thyroid levels were not affected by having soy protein. For me it was ok, but others may be different.

I usually get the vanilla flavor, then use a different DaVinci syrup to change the flavor. Or throw in a few berries of some kind...

Nah, that wouldn't work for me. Right now, I have about 30 Labrada "Lean for Her" that I love. I used to like the Atkins pre-mixed, but over several months dozens of them were curdled and inedible, so I stopped buying Atkins. (once, okay. maybe a bad batch -- but this was across batches). Anyway, these were all with Soy.

I'm trying to walk the walk <g>. I did a search but I'd rather have references where people like certain drinks, instead of my being the canary!

Thanks.

I really like the taste of Muscle Milk Protein+ but you can only get that specific one at Costco, chocolate or vanilla. It's whey protein powder. 26 or 27 gr. protein and 3 carbs per serving (1 scoop = 1/3 cup of powder). I use the vanilla mostly and change up the flavors by adding strawberries and other things once in a while. You can get the normal Muscle Milk other places.

Can you do whey powders? I use NOW unflavored whey protein isolate and add my own flavorings. It's only 1 carb per serving, but 25 grams of protein.

I know quite a few people that really like the Optimum Nutrician 100% Whey Protein Powder. Netrition sells it along with lots of other places.

Here are a few that might interest you.

This one has a slight vanilla taste but might be better if you are adding your own flavor to it.
Source Naturals True Whey

This is one of my favorites but no taste. I add fruit to it.
Garden Of Life RAW Protein

This one comes in Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, and Lightly Sweetened Unflavored. Also available in trial pack.
NutraFusion Nutritionals PlantFusion Protein

This one comes in Chocolate, Natural, and Vanilla.
Sun Warrior Protein Raw Vegan

You may also want to use Netrition's Product Analyzer at Netrition.com Product Analyzer to refine your search for soy-free protein powder.

I just wanted to add that in many whey protein powders there is a little, and I mean a Little bit, of soy lecithin included. Normally it's near the end of the list of ingredients. That Tiny amount in the container wouldn't make a difference to us hypo people. Now, a Soy Based one would be another matter.
