T3 is high - out of range

Hi all. My apologies, I don't have the test results in hand. But my FT3's are high - just slightly over the range and my Ft4's are mid to 75% of the range. I take 180mg of armour a day - 90 in the am and again in the pm. I've recently had a jump in weight (9lbs and countin) and feel as I did when I first started this hypo process. It's going on 5 weeks now of this.

Could the too high T3's do this? Could it be a bad batch of Armour? Any suggestions on where to go from here? Thanks so much!

Ellie

what is your doctor suggesting?

How do you feel?

It is possible your dose is likely too high for you.

Thanks for trying to help -
The doctor is doing another uptake and an ultrasound. She's just my GP and is at a loss as to why the t4 is just above mid and the t3 is out of the range. I've gained weight, I'm tired, and a little depressed, although I have no reason to be. (I've been on welburtrin for 15yrs- no problems) It's weird. Have you ever had your t3's too high but not your t4's? What could be the culprit?

T4 doesnt rise as high as T3 on naturals. when your dose gets too high your levels show, your body reacts.

Did she ever test Rt3 with your Ft3/Ft4

Hmmmm. When I was feeling good both my t4's & t3's were between 60%-75%.
I have unexplained depression, brain fog, swelling, I keep getting very odd illnesses (catscratch fever that caused by brainstem to swell, with grey outs in my vision), mono, reoccurrent sinus infections. Apparently, I'm slightly anemic and my immune system is shot. ) I'm just feeling 'puny' - too tired and fat.

I haven't had rt3 tested. So, it's possible that I'm just over medicated?

Did they test for Hashimoto's? That's a hefty dose and it sounds like it's way too much to me. What about lowering it. FT4 should be around mid range or lower. I'd probably try a dose reduction (via your doc) first and retest in 6 wks.

And have the RT3 tested at the same time you have your next FT3 tested.

Hi. I do have Hashi's, but have never been tested for my RT3. Thanks for setting me straight on the T4's as I thought I was supposed to be at 75% for both. Makes perfect sense now.

Thanks to all for your help!
