Which symptoms are from lack of T3 or T4?

Does anybody know which symptoms come from a lack of T4 vs a lack of T3?

Thanks for the link.

I reread, and what I'm seeing is that we take T4 to have it convert to T3 (which is sometimes doesn't do well *raises hand*); therefore, when some of our symptoms are lessened while taking just T4 it's because some of it is being converted to T3, but we still have symptoms because we need MORE T3? So, in essence, all of the symptoms are caused by a lack of T3, not by a lack of T4?

I might be really butchering the entire way it works. I do have brain fog.

***
I am taking:

when I awake
60 mg Armour
10 mcg liothyronine/generic Cytomel/T3

5 hrs later
60 mg Armour
10 mcg liothyronine

5 hrs later
10 mcg liothyronine

Because of my brain, at some point, I quit taking the 2nd dose of Armour--just forgot about it. I have noticed that my skin is dry, again, I am back to dreading the thought of exercising, and my moods aren't as good as they have been. The dr said to start taking the 2nd dose again if I'm not feeling good, otherwise, leave it at just once/day. Well, I'm not feeling good, so I started taking it again (just today--I just noticed the directions on the bottle yesterday), and I've been wondering which hormone affects which symptoms, so I thought that now would be a good time to ask.

neither one per say. As you noted, you lowered your dose/you were no longer optimized. Re evaluate after 6 or so weeks.

Oh, so just the fact that the thyroid hormones aren't optimized is what causes the symptoms?

And of course I lowered both by not taking part of my Armour. Wow, it sure would be nice to have my brain functioning properly, again so that I don't sound silly!

Thanks for trying to explain it to me!

The brain may function better when you're optimized. Not so much foggy brain happens when we're at a dose that's right for us. That might help you remember to take your afternoon dose(s). Plus, you'll probably feel a lot better.
