Shirataki noodles

Been reading about these noodles and what they have in them. Are they OK as long as you don't get the ones with tofu? If so, I have read a few recipes and seen different comments. How can you make them good and LC?

Thanks,

ls

i eat them on ocassion when i dieting down hard. They are just fiber if you get the ones without tofu (which i do)
they do NOT taste like pasta do i can enjoy them once in awhile.

I cooked them in boiling water, then drain and 'dry' them in a pan, THEN add seasonings or sauce.

There are some recipes in the recipe section i think and on a few of the websites that sell them.

They are chewy and rubbery with a fishy nasty smell.

You MUST rinse them quite a bit, like at least 3 times. Then add to other things. They will take on the taste of other things. I'd never eat by themselves, blech, but with other things with herbs, garlic, whatever, etc.

Well, guess I will have to think about them before I try. I just wanted to make sure that flour that is in them is OK for us....but from the sounds....it may not matter. Have to look up some recipes.

Thanks yall!!

I have seen yam flour and konjac flour. I was just curious. Just have read different things. This link says konjac flour, but have seen yam flour mentioned too.

Oh....!! I yea, my doc is suppose to be getting my FT, FT4, ferritin, vit. D, and tsh sent out today. Hopefully they will do it right this time. Last fime I asked for the Ft4 they did Thyroxine...or something like that. She of course didn't know anything about Rt3. But, I told her about my visit to the endo and how upset I was. So anyway...maybe I can get some numbers back that mean something. Hopefully my vit. D is going down and my calcium will go down with it. We will see!!

Yep, T4 is called thyroxine. T3 is called liothyronine.
