Nutrimeds Desiccated Porcine capsules
As I am waiting to see an endo, I ordered the Nutrimeds desiccated porcine thyroid capsules from the nutri-meds.com website which I got form the stopthethyroidmadness.com. I saw the good reviews.
How is this compared to the real thing prescribed by an end/doctor? I still feel my underactive thyroid is in the mild stage so I thought this might even correct the problem before I see an endo? Just wanted a comparison. Thanks. |

She's not self medicating with that. She's just buying a vitamin supplement. It has NO measurable amount of any type of hormone. In effect, she's just spending money.

Ok. It's not going to replace thyroid meds. How's your weight loss, hair, skin, etc.? Thyroid affects WAY more than just weight, it's important to make sure you can get into a thyroid doctor (not just any doctor) and have the correct tests done (Or get the tests on an online site). This is not something you would take 'instead of' thyroid hormone. And...if it's strong enough to alert the pituitary of it's existence, than the pit will tell the thyroid to 'stop making it's own' hormones, leaving you with even less thyroid. KWIM? So, in the meantime, you kind of need to start figuring out how you can get care.
