Armour to Synthroid/Cytomel help please from the experts
Hi guys,
I have been on Armour for quite awhile and I am up to 3 grains/day. My doctor (he listened!) agreed to switch me to Synthroid/Cytomel next month since even though my labs are fine I am not doing very well AND the obtaining Armour issues. Right now I am completing my last month of Armour and have added 5mcg of Cytomel in the morning. Since my doctor and I are both new to the Cytomel combo does anyone know what should my doses be next month of the Synthroid and Cytomel to compare to Armour? (I am sure he is researching it but I want to know my options too, lol). Thanks for your help! Lori

111mcg. T4 (try 100mcg.) and approx. 20mg. T3 (so..um...I'd opt out for around 75mcg. of T4 and 24mcg. Cytomel split in quarters...take two quarters am, take one quarter early afternoon and take another quarter later afternoon and that should pretty much 'mimic' the Armour. The REASON I'd do the 75mcg. T4 (and not the 100mcg.) and a little more T3 is cause Armour puts more emphasis on the T3 than the T4.
