Maybe you just get sinus pressure at the same time of year the rest of us do with allergies. Everything doesn't HAVE to be from hormones.

Actually, I started having sinus pressure when I began taking Prometrium and thyroid meds the first week this September. I was quite sure it was one or the other. Since that time the pressure has dissipated. I am not prone to chronic allergies or sinus issues. The pressure I had was more in the nasal area.

Do you have raised blood pressure also (with the taking of thyroid T3)? This can be a source of sinus swelling/pressure too.

I have blood pressure issues but my BP is managed quite well on my bp meds. I believe for me, the sinus pressure was my body trying to make an initial adjustment to thyroid meds and bht at the same time. Initially I lost 4 pounds with the Prometrium, but then started gaining. Prometrium has been put on the shelf for awhile. No sinus pressure lately. The Prometrium gave me a great night's sleep and somewhat of a mood elevation. I think I am starting to feel the good effects of thyroid meds now, and I don't miss the Prometrium. Don't mean to thread jack but I hope sharing my issues can help someone else.

I gained a whopping 14 pounds from prometrium. Found out then that I wasn't one of those peeps who could take progesterone orally. I did really wonderful on the transdermal compounded cream though! Gave me great sleep, helped me shed water weight. So...you might want to try that instead? Just a heads up.

Yes. Thanks, Pam. I plan on talking to my doctor about this when I see her in Dec. Just paid a $1,600 bill for all this thyroid testing and doctor visits. But well worth it. I am feeling so much better than I was on 9/1 when I went to see my doc. Dang weight! Hopefully this next year will be one of success with shedding pounds. Started JUDDD on Saturday, and feel good on thyroid meds.

Good, I'm really glad you are starting to feel better. It IS a long process (although I didn't pay THAT much...many of us get our testing done through Online Lab Tests: blood work, blood testing and laboratory tests (you order online, they send you to a lab near you...an example is the TSH, FT4, FT3...it's under 90 dollars through healthcheckusa, yet some docs charge a whopping 300 dollars and MORE through their labs).

I feel a bit 'richer' since I'm post meno, and weaned off of all BHRT after being on it for seven years (I went post meno really fast...at age of 41). So, it's just my thyroid hormones, and paying the gym membership at this point

Thanks for the link, Pam. I want more testing (cortisol) and will use this. The Prometrium was almost $60.00 for a month's supply - too expensive. I should add that the doc did a complete heart exam when I went in asking to have my thyroid checked. That's why my bill was so high. Thank you for your help.

Wow. I think my last one month's supply of compounded progesterone (100mg/ML) was 35 bucks...but I did call around to all the compounding pharms and used the least expensive...and he put it in olive oil.

I checked an on-line Canadian drug store and they were $57.00 100 mg. for 28 pills. So, not much cheaper over there. Except for the weight, I thought they were great.

No, I wasn't taking ORAL with olive oil..it was transdermal...just wanted to clarify. My transdermal (rubbed on skin) was in an olive oil base. The ORAL (prometrium) made me sick no matter how they compounded it.
