My Cytomel looks different than last time...

My first prescription for 25mcg's of cytomel was a white aspirin looking type pill, kind of large too, I just had it refilled and now, the pill is tiny tiny and pink! I checked the bottle and it says 25mcg's of lioth(sp) something or other which I know is cytomel.

Does that seem right?

Mary

Never Mind, I just called the pharmacy and answered my own question, they switched manufacturers...

It's not necessary to get either synthetic brand name..unless you are allergic to one of the fillers in the generic....Synthroid was sued years ago (Thyroid Disease Information - Hypothyroidism - Hyperthyroidism - Thyroid Cancer - Autoimmune Disease - Hashimoto's - Graves' - Goiter - Nodules put in 'Synthroid lawsuit' in search to read more) for not having the same dosage in each batch, but when other labs got the 'go ahead' to make levothyroxine, it had to be all the same. Levoxyl is a bit 'different'...it is like a little 'sponge' so you MUST take it with water, because it kind of 'puffs up'. Some patients like only brand (the same way I want brand name diet Cola, heh heh), others see no difference in their labs on any type of levothyroxine or liiothyronine.
