What to do next?
I am a little concerned about the results of my latest TSH test.
Range: .35-5.5 Last year I tested at 2.3. Last week 1.4. T4 was 1.1. I have nothing to compare that to. Doctor does not seem concerned. I know I am in the "normal" range but I fit all of the hypo symptoms to a T. In fact, I was diagnosed hypo when I was 10 but grew out of it, according to my docs. Are there more tests I should do? Just keep an eye on it? |

Your T4 number is meaningless without the lab ranges. Did you also have your T3 checked?
If you're not taking any thyroid meds, your TSH seems fine. It's the high numbers that indicate hypo (in my experience). I'm hypo (Hashi's), and my endo prefers to keep my TSH at about 1.0 or slightly lower. |

When my TSH was a 1 (or slightly below) I was about half dead. I'm one of those people who need my TSH completely suppressed....and TSH means not a lot in light of Free T4 and Free T3. I really didn't give a hang what my pituitary was saying (TSH) it was my T3 that was so low...I didn't convert any of my T4 to T3 (none none none). My doc keeps my TSH at .002....and my Free T3 3/4 of it's range. I feel GREAT!
