next Dr appointment

Hi all,

hoping I can glean some advice before my next Dr appointment on Tuesday. since beginning of Oct I've been on 30mg dessicated thyroid 2x/day, my ft3 was a bit low, ft4 was mid range and the dr said there was room to move the t3 up a bit (hence the lower dose) tsh was 0.5

what I've noticed this past month:
I can really tell when the thyroid is "out of my system" (if that's the right phrase), the first dose is at 5.30-6.00 in the morning, the second by about 11.30 or 12.30 (depends on whether I'm with client's or not). what I've noticed though is at first I could tell I needed to take the dose because I'd lose my focus, begin yawning and want to sleep.

lately though I've really noticed I need to take the dose because now I feel as if I have the beginnings of the flu???!! aches, massive headache, chills and very run down. these feelings go away after my 2nd dose and after eating.

Evening isn't quite as bad, I just feel like I want to sleep at 7 pm (not possible with kids) and have no ability to do anything.

I'm still losing clumps of hair, my body temp hovers between 96.5 and 97.6 with occasional spurts to 98.

I am going to ask to be tested for Hashi's and to get the progesterone tested.
my question, should the dose be upped? if so by what amount? can you think of anything else he should be looking for/at?

Wow..it sounds like you are way undermedicated to me, but I'm no doctor nor am I Pam..

Is the doctor going to re-do the blood tests? I know that they like to start T3 slowly and then add it as needed. I think your symptoms are pretty extreme.

When you go in for the next blood tests, take your 30mg. than about four to five hours AFTER that....have the blood drawn. This will show just WHERE you are at. You'll know more after your next tests. Um, I can see WHY you'd want to know if you have Hashimoto's (cuz we should know if we have an autoimmune disease) but the treatment will be the same (you'll still need thyroid hormones given and increased as the antibodies kill off the thyroid).
