Fatigue
First off, I have Graves, not Hashi. My labs came back yesterday and they said that they are within normal range for TSH, free T3 and T4. Why do I still feel so fatigued? I slept for most of the day today.
The nurse wasn't much help in figuring this out. She asked if I was anemic or taking a multivitamin. Not anemic and take a multivitamin. Then she referred me to my regular doctor to find out what the problem is. ![]() A couple of weeks ago, I actually felt normal for about five days and then I slipped back into this fatigue and brain fog state. I thought for sure they would tell me that my numbers are still off and that I need to up my dosage of Tapazole. Any ideas? (Sorry, I don't have the exact numbers. They are sending them in the mail.)

do you have your labs for those 'normal' ranges?

You need to get the numbers for those "normal" values. Thyroid hormones are not measured by lab value parameters but where you are within those parameters. Unless you have the actual numbers and the lab ranges, any discussion is futile.

That's what I was thinking. I have no labs for when I was feeling normal unless I use last November's numbers when they took me off the Tapazole because I was within range and feeling good. They thought I had gone into remission then.
I think the next time I feel "normal" I will have them run bloodwork to see what the numbers say. |

If you are on any BHRT, any hormones like birth control, you need Free T4, Free T4, not totals. And to tell if you are anemic you'd have to look at your iron, ferritin tests. It's so difficult when you have Graves...it CAN be a roller coaster, just as much as Hashi's. In early Hashimoto's, the TSI (denotes Graves) and the TPO (denoted Hashimoto's) can BOTH be high. Mine were. I had no less than SEVEN doctors tell me I had Graves. I don't. I have Hashimoto's...but it took about a year for me to 'settle down' and to be able to have treatment. A 'normal' person will have a TSH of around or under a 1, and a FT4 of around midway or a little higher, and a FT3 of 2/3 to 3/4 of range. Pam
