Anyone seeing a good doctor in Michigan?

Hi!

I know that I've posted this question on here before, but I'm going to try again. I'm looking for a doctor in Michigan to help treat hypothyroid. I'm currently on Armour thyroid and want to see a doctor that will let me stay on this and help to get my levels optimized.

I've used the "Thyroid Top Doc" list to try to find a doctor to no avail. I was really hoping to be able to see Dr. Walter Woodhouse from the list, but after sending in all the paperwork they said they decided they aren't going to accept any new patients

. So, I've called many many more offices but either doctors are not accepting new patients or they don't accept insurance.

So, any good advice? Anyone know of a good doctor in MI or have a doc out of state who might know one in MI (I know that's a stretch... but worth a shot).

I know someone on a group that goes to Dr. David Brownstein. He prescribes Armour thyroid. Not sure where he is in Michigan though. I live in Missouri.

This lady had thyroid cancer and is getting treated really well, including her hypothyroid kids.

Trisha, You know this is your health..I would go to a good doctor and pay cash if I had to.
It's not like you are having surgery (let's hope not). Good thyroid doctors who prescribe Armour are few and far between.

I would check the prices on the non-insurance ones. They may not take insurance, but can you file a claim yourself and get re-imbursed? Sometimes that can happen..

Where are you? I had a good one in Ann Arbor. I think it was Dr. Sanford or Stanford. I tried to get into see him again but there was a 6 month wait so I saw his partner but I can't remember her name Dr. Kelly something. She prescribed Armour.

I'm in Owosso, but willing to drive. I think I may have found someone about an hour and 40 minutes away. Waiting for his office to call back (hopefully tomorrow).
