I Finally Have Hope!!!!
Hi to All!!!!!
![]() OMG!!! I am on cloud 9. I met with a Dr. Wilson today in Redlands, CA. WHAT A WONDERFUL MAN!!!! He listened to me. He took a long look at my blood work. He asked me questions about how I was feeling; about my mood, my eating, my weight (actually lack thereof) loss, my energy, my skin, even my periods. I am to go back in a month for new bloodwork, both Ft3 and Ft3 were mentioned. Meanwhile, her prescribed one grain of Armour to see how that effects my blood work. My blood work at last test was: TSH = 2.02 (0.4-4.00) Free T4 = 1.00 (0.70 - 1.48) Thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin = 93 ( < 125) Thyroperoxidase antibody < 3.0 ( < 5.6) Free T3 = 247 (210-440) He mentioned they (Kaiser) didn't test for (I think he said) my TPO? and they should have. He said Armour is REALLY hard to get right now and the manufacturer seems to be on backorder. He said he can't even get it right now for about another three weeks. He did write me a prescription and said to try and get it filled, however in the meantime if I can't find it he gave me something called Nature-Throid TM NT-1 in the same 1grain. He went into detail about how the Armour helps with both the T3 and the T4 whereas some others only help with the T4. I stopped by three different Pharmacies including Target and Costco and sure enough they didn't have any. Fortunately the only Mom-and-Pop Pharmacy in our tiny horse town does have it in stock. Off to get it before 6:00 west coast time as they aren't open over the weekend. I am so hopeful at this very moment and just had to share. ![]()

I know how it feel, Susie..It's a miracle to find a doctor who "gets" it. I'm sure your doctor is starting you out slow and will retest in a couple of months..

So glad for you, Susie! Someday, all these doctors who won't even listen, (let alone run all the necessary tests!), will have to answer for the way they treated their patients!
Good luck with your treatment! ![]() |

Sounds super! Be sure to get bloodwork in like 2-4 weeks and hopefully get an increase in dose. I felt so much better after getting on a little armour I waited WAY too long for a dose increase. (((so happy for you)))
BTW having no trouble getting Armour up here in the bay area. |
