ahhhhh - yes - it is a full time job balancing all this stuff, it seems!!
I am finally pretty close to being optimized on synthroid and cytomel - and am feeling better than I have in quite a long time - so it is possible to work this out on synthetics . . . I was very close to switching to armour - but decided to wait and see how I do on this regiment before starting over w/ armour. If things don't go smoothly, I may still make the switch, tho ![]() I hope you get some relief soon - and I love the quote you have at the end of your posts!! |

Thank you Cheri! Someone sent me an email with that in it, and I love it. Good luck to you on your meds. It's a full time job, I agree. I don't seem to convert T4 to T3, so I doubt Synthroid will ever really work well for me. However, I'm studying up on iodine, adrenal and cortisone again since my hormone doctor suggested them. That's all confusing too, though - there doesn't seem to be a lot of consensus out there as to what you should do to support full healthy functioning thyroid!
I had some labs drawn on Weds, and will have a couple more on Tuesday, and then a consult with my regular doctor (who is Armour friendly but only because I insist...she is clueless on how to follow up with it or anything else). I'm going to kick that endo to the curb. I called his office a couple days ago and he wasn't in. Nobody could answer any question except that he doesn't want to retest me until Mid August. I told her (nurse, I guess) I wasn't doing too well on Synthroid, but she didn't offer anything sooner. My hair had stopped falling out from the chemo and was growing back. Yesterday handfuls came out again. Nice.

Hi Steph,
I just wanted to give you a big ol' hug because you are dealing with SO much with cancer and treatments. Chemo and radiation ravage your system and especially your thyroid. Are you still having your treatments?Having gone through chemo, I understand the frustration of having your hair come back only to start losing it again. ![]() Take heart Steph. I pray you will feel better soon. ![]() |

Thank you
My treatments were finished June 5. Now I'm just waiting out the side effects and trying to heal up some. I had some pretty dreadful reactions but I'm a lot better now. |
