Camera's-files?

What does the camera mean next to the posts? I thought it was b/c I was new but I see people newer than me that have the orange/yellow brief case/file thing.... I went to controls but couldn't find anything....can I change my name that I use?

A camera beside a post means that you've either started the thread or replied to it......

Ok I'm sorry but what else is there? Am I not getting it? You either start it or reply......how do you get the briefcase...by just viewing?
