Tickers and Images in your Signatures
 

We have decided to make a modification to LCF policies. We will now allow RegisteredplusPM members to add an image to their signature. RegisteredplusPM members are those who have been an LCF member for 25 days AND have at least 25 posts.

The reason for this modification was mostly in response to members request to add a weight loss ticker to their signatures. The privilege of adding images to signatures was taken away several years ago due to abuse. So, we would like to remind everyone to please be mindful of LCF Terms of Service when adding an image to your signature.

Image Restrictions:
1. You can only add one image to your signature.
2. Animated gifs are not allowed.
3. Maximum width = 500 pixels. Maximum height = 100 pixels.
4. Any image that exceeds width and height restrictions will be automatically re-sized.

To Add an Image:
1. Go to your User Control Panel > Settings and Options > Edit Signature.
2. Scroll down to Signature Picture. (You will only see this option if you are an Established member.)
3. Enter an image url from another web site (you can find weight loss tickers at Weight Loss - Diet Ticker) or upload a custom image from your computer.
4. After you upload the image, click on "Insert Signature Picture" to make sure the signature code [SIGPIC] appears.
5. Preview and Save your signature.

well, I'm having problems adding the ticker. Where is the option of "insert signature picture"? I don't see that option. Thanks!

Star it's near the bottom of the page, right next to the image box. Click the link then upload:)

No matter how I enter the URL, I'm getting a bad picture or an error message that says "Invalid File". Can you tell me which part of the URL code provided is correct? Here is the BBC code...

I have tried doing mine a few times and got the same Invalid file message. I used to just copy and paste the picture of the ticker on another board but it doesn't work doing that here.

Koo.. if you have your tickers addy.. Let me know what it is and I can put it in there for you!

Adding that I find it easier to load it from my picture folder.. so when people send me their tickers I save it on my computer and then when I go to upload it I use option 2.. click the browse button and find your ticker on your computer and click on it and then save it...

To make it show up... You have to put this into your signature box.. so you might want to add that first... no http addy needs to be inbestween it since you are adding the http addy or browsing for it in your picture folder.

I got it in there for ya... I am working on step by step instructions showing how to add tickers.. It is a bit confusing but I think with instructions it would help so much better. :)

Cheri- Thanks for all of your help. I got your email. I pasted the link you suggested. Here is what I get. Same thing happens when I save the image to my computer and browse to get it... Weird??

Lisa.. I emailed you again hun... I figured out what you were doing wrong and put it in for you.. You were adding the wrong properties addy.. You needed to add the one with png at the end.. It is the second one and is a lot shorter then then one you had pasted.

Ok. I'm lost. I was trying to figure out how to get my ticker in my sig also, but tickerfactory gave me 3 different codes and none of them work. I saw what you said about the one with the png on the end, so I keep trying that one, but it just shows up as a link instead of my ticker. Help! lol Please.

Hi Jessica... The reason why your ticker wasn't working was you have to be a member for 60 days plus have at least 60 posts.. I went ahead and adjusted your profile to reflect your 60 posts since you have been a member so long and were short just a few posts. It is showing for you now..

Not a problem hun.. There have been a few others who have been a member for a long time but just didn't have enough posts that I helped get their tickers in as well..

not to be a total pain...lol...but i updated my ticker and it doesn't show updated in my sig. if you look a few posts up, where i copied and pasted the actual code, it is updated but not in my sig...i can't figure out what to do from here.

The new one should be in now hun.. :)

Look!! I finally got it to work!! :D Thanks for all your help Cheri!

I think the problem a lot of us are having with inserting the ticker is due to the www.http is being entered twice since it already in the box in the user control panel so when we copy and paste the www.... it is being entered twice. Does that make sense?
