Crazy LCF Acronyms

Okay, enlighten me. I'm a smart girl, but some of the popular acronyms on this site have me stumped.

For instance, I get that DH and DD somehow refer to a spouse or kids, but what do the letters actually mean? Same goes for HWC, which people seem to put in their coffee - what the heck is that?

Rachel Ray popularized EVOO, so thank goodness I can get that one! But, what are others that you can post that can help a girl out?

XH = ex-husband

I've never really understood the HWC. We have whipping cream (35%) and then heavy cream is different ( 40%) ?

For ex-husband I say exH...so it can vary...

Our heavy cream (aka HWC) says heavy whipping cream right on the carton, so it takes the guesswork out the equation. I like that!

The "H" in IMHO can also mean humble.

KWIM = know what I mean

WDYT = what do you think

SAD = standard American diet

DANDR = Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution

Sometimes you think people are paying by the letter to type... it's not texting and it's not a telegram; how hard is it to type out the words? I think people like the "in" feeling of the abbreviations, but there are SO MANY lurkers here, it would really be a service to minimize this stuff.

Some of us are still pecking and backspacing with one or two fingers and any shortening of often used expressions saves alot of time.

I do have sympathy for those who are new to the internet and bulletin boards but the rest of us figured it out.....

I don't peck and I can type about 90 WPM (words per minute) it's just still a lot quicker to type in abbreviations or acronyms. I don't do it to be "cool".
