lingo....
I'm a newbie/lurker here, haven't started my new attempt at low carbing. However, there are two sets of letters that I can't figure out...
"WOE" What is that? "HWC" what is that? and why do you put it in your coffee? I couldn't find a thread that explained it so my apologies if you've all answered this a million times. tia babetteq ![]() |

WOE - Way of Eating. There are different kinds of diets referred to on the forums, so this is nicely generic.
HWC - Heavy Whipping Cream. You put it in your coffee to substitute for half-and-half. ![]() ![]() |

Hi babetteq!
I've been at this for two months and there are still abbrevations that puzzle me. However, WOE is Way Of Eating (low-carb) and HWC is Heavy Whipping Cream. Used in coffee in place of half-and-half or milk and in place of milk in recipes. Sharon |

Thanks for the quick replies everyone! I'm still reading, reading, reading. I've always thought that there was an insulin/weight link - based muchly on how my body responds to food - a hot 'rush' with sweating, shaking, flushing. Particularly after a big plate of pasta. I think I had an epiphany though when I was reading about diabetes, that then turned into reading about insulin and it's process, which then turned into reading about carbohydrates/glycogen/insulin etc you know how it is when you're reading on the internet and you click this link there, that link there and then follow it up with wikipedia! lol
That, brought me to this site. I'm 250lbs. I've lost 65 but that was in 3 months after I left my spouse. Nothing has budged, no matter how I count calories, cut fat. I went for a while with the rule "nothing white" and that helped a bit, but I found that I'm still battling the same 10lbs....and that's 10lbs at the top of 85lbs I have yet to lose. I'm excited about starting this way of eating (I'm thinking of going vlc to start and see where that takes me) and will be starting it next monday (when I get paid and can therefore go buy meat). Thanks for all your welcomes!! -babs Last edited by babetteq; 09-21-2009 at 01:57 PM.. Reason: PS: thrilled about the HWC in my coffee!! That's the FIRST thing I'll buy!! |
