Relocation of "The Lounge"

Hello

I recently had an off topic post moved from the Main Lo Carb Lobby to the Lounge in the Century Club. No problem with it being moved, I just had a hard time finding the Lounge.

Even tho the lounge is on the main page listing of all the forums, I still had a hard time finding it. (pardon my blindness).

My suggestion is to relocate The Lounge from underneath the century club forum to be on the same level as the Game Room in the Off topic category.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks!

Hi Crusin

Sorry, but no idea. I'll keep an eye out tho. Recommend you hang out in the main lobby. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Lots of info and support here. I've been on for 3 weeks now and this site is the BEST.

It was the Century Club Lounge....I came to the Lounge because I was in the Century club and I was comfortable having an off topic place with people who had a lot to loose.......otherwise I would have been posting the playground or some place else.

There should be one....because before you post in the Century Club Lounge you had to have a certain number of posts. When I first started I couldn't access it at all til I reached a certain number.

Can I ask how a person w/ 138 posts can get our lounge moved anyway??? It was an off shoot from the Century CLub. If we wanted to post elsewhere we could've just posted in the Playground.
Some of us have been on this board for YEARS. I've been here since 2001... That is 7 years... I have almost 15,000 posts. I have contributed alot to this board. The lounge belongs in the Century Club... It is our place... It was created for us who are/were morbidly obese. It is our safe place. We have made dear friends there, and created life long bonds!! It is very sad that a LURKER can come in and make a "suggestion" and now, those of us who have put so much into the lounge, have to suffer.

It's just plain wrong.

I agree with Amber. While we welcome everyone who comes it was and off shoot for a reason. I have been here since 2003. I feel lucky to have found this group. I have made great friends in the Century Lounge and the support I have gotten is great, because they are or were all in the same boat I am in and working on getting to the were stage.

We want to avoid having off-topic forums within the general weight loss forums. The Lounge is open to all members, but tends to be sort of a "kinder and gentler" place than the Playground. lol. I hope you still feel comfortable posting there.

Admins have been, and will continue to, place threads in The Lounge that were posted elsewhere but are off-topic since it is the only off-topic forum that can be accessed by all members.

By the way, we have been planning to place The Lounge in the Off Topic area for quite a while. It was not a result of one suggestion.

I am sorry to be rude and pain. But when I first joined I couldn't access the lounge. I had to ask people in the Century club what it was and when I could post there. Why did you give it to us in the first place if it was going to be taken away?

The Lounge was created when many people that posted in the Century Club were complaining that they wanted to read the weight loss threads there but were finding too many off-topic threads mixed in. The off-topic threads were moved to the new forum to separate them from the weight loss threads. Although the Century Club was the first to have this problem, we have the same problem in many other forums, but we don't want to place an off-topic subforum everywhere. That is why we are moving it to a more appropriate location.

Posts unique to Century Club member issues should remain in the Century Club.

Well thanks for that...So if I want to contact the girls who are like me and have a lot to loose and might even have issues with their image or whatever then I just need their support about something then I just need to post it in the Century club and hope it doesn't get moved. I don't mean to be horrible but when you have a lot to loose and you are posting in the main places even if it is off topic some people just don't understand because they can't relate if they have 25lbs to loose. Have you read some of the girls blogs and stories who have lost a lot? Have you read how important the support is in the century club? Do you understand that we share in each other's goals being met and when we fall down we pick each other up. Watching Heather for example go through her journey and now recently married gives me hope and inspires me. Amber has lost a load and once again there is a comfort level having a place to talk to people who really understand. Cheri, Shelly, Melly, Pami, and FatCat also provide me with hope answer questions and I found them in the Chat room first then in the Century club. I need to see their pictures and hear their stories, because they were like me. What a wealth of information and support I have found here.

Even if you were planning on moving it, it would have been nice to have been asked how we the devoted feel about this because after all when you have a lot to loose things seem a bit diffrent sometimes. You aren't just comfortable any place.

Yes, please use the Century Club for posts of that nature. Admins will be understanding regarding off-topic threads there.

Please also use the Lounge if you feel comfortable with it for certain other topics.

Let's give it a few weeks and take a look at how it's working out then, ok?

Thank you for listening to our concerns and understanding. I think testing it out for a few weeks is a fair thing to do. I guess it's just a shocker for those of us who don't like change and are just afraid of losing our tight knit group.
Thanks though Admins. for understanding our fear and frustration and for your clairification on why the move was made.

Ditto to what Amber said thank you for listening and understanding. We are a pretty close group. Testing it is a good idea and change is hard. Thanks for listening to us.
