don't know much about computers etc... but I have been browsing and would really like to see all the oopsie ideas on one thread or one area where it would be easier to get to.

I think a sub-forum, or sub-folder, or whatever, would be a great idea for oopsies.

That oopsie sticky is one loooooong thread. However, there are approximately one zillion oopsie threads floating around.

Admins, what do you think of the idea of a gathering place for the many oopsie threads? Can we have one, huh, pleez?

There are a number of things that could warrant a sub forum.
Oopsies, coconut oil etc etc.

The problem is: If people aren't using the forums where they belong now
(recipes, supplements, medical, etc.) why would they use a sub forum?

I think many will still put everything in the Main Lobby anyway.

On any given morning there are 6 - 10 threads that belong at other forums.
(And it's usually not newer members). I doubt creating sub forums will change that.

JMHO.

IA......actually I think there should be a sticky about where things should be posted. It's almost like people are afraid to venture away from the ML.

This is not a thread about whether people use forums and sub-forums properly. This is a thread about whether it would be a good idea to create a sub-forum for Oopsie rolls inside the Recipe forum.

I think an Oopsie sub-forum, and maybe some others -- coconut oil is a great example -- would be helpful.

I think the fact that people don't put them in the recipe now is relevant to the
original post which requested the oopsies be in one place. ( and didn't even mention sub folders).

All the oopsie threads are not in one place because some people put them where they belong
and some don't. I don't believe creating a sub folder will change that fact.

The original poster would get her suggestion if people put recipes in the recipes forum
and oopsie threads in the oopsie sticky.

Can you put a thread in a sticky?

Yes. ... The original Kimmer sticky was started with two threads merged.

I have nothing against sub forums. I post in one several times a day.

I just don't think a sub folder will solve the original posters request
any more than having a sticky did.

I think you would need three administrators, working in eight hour shifts,
to put everything where it would make it simpler to find.

I don't know why people don't just put recipes on the recipe forum.
It's kind of a simple concept that makes life easier for their fellow posters.
The nature of the beast I guess.

Thanks goodness we do have search ability here. ..... Not all BB sites do.

Yes. I love the advanced search function, with all its options.
