abbreviations

I keep seeing in posts DH DBF and so on. What do those abbreviations mean? Thanks!

DH - Dear Hubby
DBF - Dear Boyfriend
DD - Dear Daughter
DS - Dear Son

I think that is what those mean

Took me awhile to figure out what TOM was!

At first I thought people were referring to the moderator, Tom....but most of the references weren't too nice.

KUTGW=keep up the good work

I have been here for 2 years now and hate to admit I still have NO IDEA what....SANS means...I see it at Cold Stone Creamery also(not for me silly, hubby is addicted) ....????

Sans in french means "without". I'm not sure if it's an abbreviation or what context the creamery would use it in. Like...a sundae SANS nuts? Or a typeset called SAN serriff (sp?)...it means typing font without all the little lines at the ends of the letters.

A few more you'll see:

TIA = thanks in advance

lol = laughing out loud
TTFN = tata for now
WOL = way of life
PCOS = poly-cystic ovary syndrome
LMAO = laughing my <ahem> off
ROFL = rolling on floor, laughing

PS. I think the "D" in DH can mean something other than "dear" - especially when he forgets to put the toilet seat down!
