question about Private Messages

Is there any way to tell that you've got a PM except by checking your "my controls" area? In other words, is there anywhere you can get an alert, etc. I know on some other message boards I've used there's a flashing envelope on the screen, etc. to alert you that you've got a PM waiting.

Megan you should receive an email alert just like when you post to the message board.

I'll send you one so you can see if it works.

When you have a private message they send you a notice through email just like when someone answers your reply to a thread, at least I have always gotten one.

In My Controls click on Edit Options. About half way down there are options on how to be notified for PMs, either email or a pop up messge.

I use to get a green box that would pop up when I first started on this site but that doesn't happen any more. Have things changed I thought I just hit a wrong button somewhere and screwed something up.....Sami

Do you have a popup blocker enabled?

I use Mozilla that has a popup blocker and I had to enable popups for the sites like this that make a window pop up when I receive a PM.
