Anyone interested in starting a clothing exchange?

Cheaper than buying new ones and you're not gonna wear them long anyway. Just pay for the shipping.

I have loads of 16's if anyone wants....

Twill slacks, jeans, shorts...some of the stuff I only wore a few times and I have already washed them prior to putting in the giveaway bag.

Anyone who wants some 16's send me a PM. We can work something out I'm sure.

EDIT: I also have a lot of size 18 stuff, and a few larger than that sizes.

Just about ready to give up the 3x but i think I will have to try on the others first. Well, maybe it is better to wear them tight for a little while for some incentive

just a note...nothing worse than seeing a post on here because someone sent someone else some clothes and never rec'd the shipping costs....

imho.......best to just play it forward....when you send clothes to someone, do not worry if they pay or not...and when you receive clothes from someone on lcf, then send them to someone else on lcf when you are no longer in need of them....

I'm in need of anything 16-20. I haven't outgrown anything yet, but I'm finally able to get into some 16's.

Anyone have anything they would like to donate to a worthy cause....ME??

I don't want to be in the exchange (I just gave away or sold everything that was too big), but I wanted to comment. In the search for inexpensive clothing while losing weight, don't forget places like Salvation Army--they carry plus sizes now. But more than that--LOTS of jeans in great condition. Unfortunately, the selection of work-type clothing is poor.

I have complete wardrobes in sizes 18 and 20 that I don't yet fit into, but paid only $100 per size for. Quite a bit came from garage sales just this year (there seems to be an awful lot of people here having gastric bypass, so they have a whole selection of sizes). Some of my larger stuff has been sold on Ebay, given away or donated back to Salvation Army. I really like doing this- saves me and others money! I can hardly wait until Fall--If I'm in a 20, then I can start getting 14s and 16s for next year!

18/20 Lane Bryant Shirt

I have a black 18/20 short sleeve tunic top that I wore once before I got too small for it. I would love to send it to someone who could get some use out of it.

I'm a newbie here (been lurking for a long time, but rarely post due to be very shy).
I would be interested in something like this.
I was just telling DH I have nothing to wear that fits nicely.
I need size 18-20's.... Mainly casual clothes and shorts/jeans and tops.
I'm not sure what sizes I have to give, but I am sure I have some things (probably a few things in a 24-26 or 3x).
I will look thru my things as soon as I get a chance.

How do we keep it going?

I started this thread but I want to something more permanent put into place like a BB just for exchanging clothes. Anyone have anyidea how to get it started?
I agree with the person about going to thrift stores and yard sales; I love to do that too, but alot of people have clothes that are too big and alot of us need the next smaller size.
I like the pay if forward idea too. What do y'all think? I wouldn't mind paying shipping knowing that when I am in need someone will send me their clothes and I don't have to worry about the particulars.

People who want 16's and 18's send me a PM, and I'll let you know what I have. I have a lot of jeans, twill slacks, a few poly slacks that are great for work, etc.

When we get paid I will ship them. However, be aware that Ron and I are at poverty level (about $1200 a month for the both of us) so if you can spare the shipping that would be great. You can just look at the label when you get it and send us a check for what you see on the label.

I wouldn't ask but the shipping is going to take a bite out of the budget and we're behind on the wheelchair payments as it is. LOL

DUH! LOL

That'll teach me not to check it! LOL

By the way, I filled up a whole page of a steno pad doing my inventory. Claim 'em if you want em.

I have takers on most everything but the 18P twill slacks, which I have in gray, taupe, and black (one pair each color). The black ones are never-worn. I also have 18 beige poly slacks (OK for work) and 16P plum heather poly slacks (I have a real thing for purple LOL). Size 18 wide-leg comfy-waisted ergononic jeans from Newport News. Now I have 4 pairs 16W jeans (one pair berry, 2 prs each black and denim colored). A size 20 relaxed fit pair of twill slacks, and a size 20W pair of charcoal heather wool slacks. LOL Yeah, like anyone wants THEM now! If you want them, send me a PM with your shipping. First come-first served.

I could use any size 12's. That is my target size. Mainly jeans and shorter pants like capris would be great. It's casual dress at the "office" when we go back to work.

Heather -- checking her PMs now. LOL

Size 14's

If anyone has any size 14's my mom needs them. Preferably petite as she is short. She is doing Atkins with me and her 16's are getting baggy.

I LIKE THIS DILEMMA!

I like that of all the different WOE out here, (and all the problems to have,) Atkins folks have the wonderful dilemma of not being able to buy clothes that fit fast enough for their weight loss!

We're shrinking out of our clothes as fast as children grow out of theirs!

Also, that "Pessontwardgoal" had the insight to suggest a clothes exchange, proves that we are a very resourceful and thoughtful group too.
