Makin' It Happen! May Stillman's Challenge!!

So I figured I would get the May thread started, even though we are still finishing up the April one!

I'm recommitting for May. No more deviations! No more dairy! No more cured meat, so LOW sodium. I have to make up for my slow loss last month. It shouldn't be too difficult. I don't really care so much about food variety. I cook for my 5 year old twins, and myself. My DH likes to make more elaborate Low carb meals for him and his teenage daughter. I'm vowing to leave his stuff alone! :D My motto this month is KISS!

I would like to be 193 by the end of May (or less, because less is even better!).

Who's joining me!!?

Kandi313 04-29-2014 07:52 AM

You know I am, I am gonna try to be more strict Stillmans this month, not saying that i will everyday but at least thats my intensions. My goal for April was 195....and Man I got to 196.1 and just knew I was gonna make it....but um yea back to 200 like its nothing smh. so my goal for May will be 190. Look forward to everyone joining the more support the better!:up::jumpjoy:

Of course I'm in! :shake: All you ladies have been so supportive and it really helps staying on track. I'm trying to be realistic, so will work to get at least 10 pounds off in May, and aim to get into the next decade: the 150's.

:welcome: lumosity, and Determined2Lose, and from the April thread, boisegirl and Peace

Makin' It Happen! May Stillman's Challenge!!

Hello everyone I'm in. Current weight 165 lbs ideal weight 135 lbs, hoping to loose 18 lbs in May and workout at least 4 times a week I know it sounds a lot but my weight loss is never visible if I don't workout :-(.

Sexyback 04-30-2014 09:45 AM

May Goals

My goals for this month are:

1. Lose 15 lbs (may seem a lot but I need to catch up with what I didn't lose last month and if I set it too low and get there early, I tend to get lazy :o)

2. Cut out Dairy completely! to try and jump start the losses again, but for side health benefits of better skin and less headaches... :aprayer:

3. Go to the gym 3-4 times a week to lift weights and maybe do some light cardio.

What are everyone's Goals for this month?

BrattyS 04-30-2014 12:47 PM

Welcome Back!! Hang in there, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I usually try to go to bed real early on the days I'm getting into ketosis.

Thanks! Thankfully my body gets into ketosis in 2 days. (usually) I know that day 3 I feel a lot better and day 4 I feel awesome. I am excited for this month. I want to see how much I can lose.

You can do it! Just hang on tight the first few days if they get rough. When you get into ketosis you will feel much better.

Good Morning, everyone, glad to see u return Bratty, hoping we all have a SUPER MONTH ,,one day at a time!:hugs::jumpjoy::shake::high5:

lumosity 05-01-2014 06:51 AM

Starting today, Day 1. I weighed in at 146, did have cream with coffee this morning, but no more for the rest of the day and for the remainder of the challenge. Did a big shopping trip, and have loaded the fridge with chicken, turkey, more chicken, and more turkey. I also got some ff ottage cheese to use as a substitute for mayo in egg salad and chicken salad.

I am going to shoot for six small meals spaced throughout the day, to ward off any hunger pangs...

Good luck to all of us !!!!!!

Kandi313 05-01-2014 06:52 AM

Goal for May 190
Apr End Weight 199.8

Week 1
5-1~ 197.4
5-2~
5-3~

lumosity 05-01-2014 07:03 AM

Kandi, you are well on your way. I have a feeling you will easily surpass your goal. You can do it!!!!!

BrattyS, yes, you are right, it's the first few days that can be rough. I was trying to lose my weight using Atkins Induction, and I kept losing and gaining the same 5 pounds over and over again, but since I was on limited carbs already, hoping for a smooth transition to Stills. Also hoping any loss going forward will be fat, and not water !!!

lumosity 05-01-2014 07:04 AM

Ladies, can someone pls tell me how to put a signature line. I tried looking around on the User Control Panel, and couldn't find anything.

TIA.

BrattyS 05-01-2014 08:34 AM

Thanks for the welcome back. :)

My headache is gone! :jumpjoy: I think I have been on and off stillmans for so long that my body just sighs and says "here we go again.." Then jumps right into ketosis.

My goal for this month is to lose 15lbs and to be walking on the treadmill for an hour 5x a week. I know that it not enough to really burn any calories but I want to just get used to doing it each day.
I can't work out hard because of my heart but I do want to so something.

Day 1- 233.2 (started the day before the 1st of the month.)
------------
May 1- 229.8

Top left side of the site is a "user control panel" link.
Then there should be a link on the left side to edit everything.

Hi everyone - hello to all newbies and old timers continuing their way down the scale :) I'm on my Stills hiatus, and ugh, I do not feel good - upset tummy, bloating yucky stuff. Weird but kind of looking forward to getting back on plan next week and eating clean.

Wishing you all great losses for the month of May. Kandi, well done, firmly in the 190's again, I see.

Determined2Lose 05-01-2014 10:02 AM

May 1: 214
My goal for weight loss this month is 15-20 lbs. Sounds like a lot but I KNOW I can do it!! I'm so thankful to have found this great support/advice/inspiration!!

Little bit of background:
Started out January 27th at 269.6 lbs. Went through a really stressful period (left my husband, moved with three kids, etc) and lost 16 lbs from being too stressed to eat. The good news is the 16 lb loss was the kick start I needed to continue on this journey. I was losing by eating very low calories and walking 5-7 miles a day but then stalled due to my body deciding I was a jerk for starving it. I started Stills in April and have seen a quick loss. Looking forward to losing more and enjoying being healthier!! :)

Hi everyone!!
Am off work this morning so was doing a bit of running around, and I'm now at home making some grilled chicken, just for moi! Gonna hide it in the fridge, maybe in the veggie crisper, cuz I KNOW the teens don't go in there!! LOL.

Last night was my last day with dairy.... So, of course, had to have something I really shouldn't and went for spinach dip with the hubby. I gained a pound from the bread I ate, but know it will fall off quick. I'm in the right head space now, and don't think I will feel deprived. I'm actually looking forward to my resolve sticking!

May 1 - 209.8

Kandi- Look at you! I feel you won't be seeing those 200s EVER Again!!
D2L - It's amazing how sometimes the best things result from the most miserable. Time to make yourself happy and focus on you! Go girl!
Suzanne - Enjoy Vegas! I know what you mean, lapsing definitely takes a toll on my tummy.
BrattyS - good on you for doing the treadmill! This journey is more about our health anyways. It's good for your heart to walk. all the power to ya!
Lumosity - there is a tread (sticky) someplace that walks you through it, with pictures. I did it a while back but the darn thing never updated by itself, so it was more of a pain than anything. If you find a different way, let me know!

lumosity 05-01-2014 11:20 AM

Stephanie, :hugs:

SexyBack, gonna look for the sticky now. LOL @ chicken in the veggie section.

So Day 1 has gone well so far, had some HB eggs for breakfast, and ground chicken for lunch. Not hungry right now, so feeling quite motivated :high5:

lumosity 05-01-2014 11:26 AM

Yup, sigs are allowed only after 25 days AND 25 posts

lumosity 05-01-2014 11:29 AM

SexyBack, how do you make your diet coke chicken? I had diet Sunkist, I just threw it in the pan with some ground chicken, and the end result was just meh, I was expecting to get more of a BBQ consistency on the chicken. What did I do wrong? :stars:
