Glad everyone likes the new avatar! It's me a couple days ago with my twins, goofing around. The one previously is from YEARS ago! LOL. I was 24 at the time, I'm now 34. The funny thing is I think I was about the same size then as I am just now. I'm thinking age is a factor? As we get older our faces thin out more (less collagen under the skin you think?).

I was also speculating that as we get older our size/weight ratio changes. At this "weight" previously, I was bigger in size. I can't really base it on muscles or anything, cuz I've really hated exercising my whole life. LOL.

It's really busy on the thread today!! I'll never be able to respond to everyone I want so I'm just going to say ""Good Work Everyone!!".

I do not know the first thing about collagen, but I have read that with LC, you tend to look much slimmer even while at a higher weight compared to a person on a non-LC woe, without exercise being a contributing factor, vs. other types of calorie restriction diets....perhaps someone else can also chime in with their thoughts.

Hmm, that does make sense. Being LC and off grains specifically, the bloat face is really down! My face and belly area shrank Very quickly.

I was thinking about this today as I still feel that I look somewhat thinner than when I was vegan and not low carb!

Age-- hmm.. I am wondering how to make my skin look firmer.. maybe some good moisturize or something.

Yay for low carb.

How are you doing, Peace? I was thinking about you last night, and was wondering if you were still doing Stills with us....

Hi

Thanks for thinking of me, I appreciate it so much. I am OK. I went off a bit, and I cant believe how much it effected me. I had some low carb bread with flax seeds ( homemade), red pepper, and more veggies than usual. I have been really tired two days and it appears that even almond butter is not working for me.

I also am recovering from my finals week which was too stressful. Anyhow, I guess I am even more convinced that the only thing that works for me is ultra low low carb, maybe a little fat, but in general.. not alot.

how are you doing?

Yay Friday! Weekend plans for us is to finish cleaning the gutters on the front of the house and some other minor repairs. My son is going to a Birthday party and we might go into DC to see some monuments on Sunday. No plans for eating out this year on Mothers Day. I told everyone I really want/need to stay on plan. I am doing fabulous mentally and I want to ride it while I can. God knows that sooner or later my hormones will torment me.

Another good diet day on the books today. Make it a great day everyone

[QUOTE=BrattyS;16903221] 224 is GONE. I had a huge pile of shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce for dinner last night. The sauce is not on plan but I use a miniscule amount. It felt good to eat a "treat". Still feeling great mentally!

Good job Misehelkiki, you started exactly where I did at 140 and by months end I was down to 126, which is a weight I hadn't seen in years and years.
oh and by day 5, my appetite had completely gone, enjoy the feeling!
Every pound is hard won, at this weight for me, (as it is for all us, whatever weight) and I'm back to 132 today, but feel huge with the bloat

Anyway, like Kandie, says it really is mind over matter and I'm ready today to just eat the right foods for me and get back in control.
Happy Mothers Day coming up to all the mums!

Are you taking magnesium? I take 500mg a day and have no issues. I also didn't sleep well last night but surprisingly woke up feeling great. Be gentle with yourself today. Hopefully you sleep better tonight.

You can do it! I know how hard it is to crawl back onto the wagon. It is the reason I have last the same pounds over and over again for 6 to 7 years.

Although I am Determined to not give up, I will never undersand my Fluctuations. Im up and down more than a Kid in a bouncy ...I definitely am learning that I will have a ways to go before I ever meet my maintance weight, because the least little thing that I consume effects me literaly overnight, I thought TOM was here yesterday but i was wrong, however i know its coming and I am sure that is some of it, and I am thankful that my teter tottering is below the 200 in and out battle I had, BUt now it seems as tho Im throwing 193-195 back and forth, dont they know my favorite numbers are in the 70s hehee, I joke cuz thats all I can do, I know it will get to moving again, but all this back and forth is exactly why I only made my goal 190, cuz one day I could hit that and then wont see it again for a week, #EpicBattlesOverHere

BrattyS, I have Mg from amazon, but somehow I have this irrational fear in my mind that if I take it at night, I'll be running to the bathroom all night or during the day when I am out and about .

It is a totally ridiculous thought as I know a lot of people take it without any such problems. Maybe today night, as tomorrow is a Saturday !!!!

Hi ladies! I'm still among you. I usually read all your posts every day, but find it hard to post every day. My once a week weigh in is tomorrow and I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Eating is pretty on track. Cannot.Stand.Eggs. anymore unless they're deviled. Sometimes I add a little cheese, mayo or low carb dressing to make things palatable. I still think my calories are super low - around 500 - 900/day.

Happy Mother's Day weekend to all the moms here!

9.2 loss in a week is awesome! Your weekend plans sound fun, except for the gutter cleaning. My family knows I want to stick to plan. I'm thinking sashimi and I'm sure a glass or two of wine will be involved.

oh and by day 5, my appetite had completely gone, enjoy the feeling!

I never welcomed you back from Vegas. I'm sure it was worth the gain. I know you'll get back on the horse. It is mind over matter, and ketosis and loss of appetite helps so much, too.

It has to be your hormones. Or, sorry if I don't remember correctly, but was it you having the thyroid nodules issue and the MD wanted to take them out/off and guaranteed weight gain? I can't remember if you're on medicine or not. Hang in there.

Welcome to all the newbies. Mishelkiki, I miss fruit too. So I have been eating Kroger's Carbmaster Yogurt and mixing a little with cottage cheese. The whole carton only has 4 carbs. I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do on this diet, but it has worked for me. I also bought zero fat greek yogurt and mixed it with parmesan cheese, pepper and garlic powder. Spread it on chicken breasts and baked them for about 1 hr. DELISH!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and LET"S LOSE IT!!!!!
Mmmm, the FF Greek yogurt mixed with parmesan sounds great. Going to try.

I was 115 today. Stomach was kind of bloated though. I had 3 grill chick tend and 1 oz of cod for bf- 9. Salad with grill chick and pollock at 230 ( one tablespoon of evoo). Gym at 530- then lettuce and grill chick or fish. No salt today and I think that made a difference for me. I still think I need to tweak my plan, but my goal is 110.

I will do it! Portion control on protein is my biggest obstaclebut mind over matter.

Peace, I really admire the way you eat, you are so good, all.the.time it seems. - what are you average calories, do you count?

I know you want to reach your goal and I know you will, but what happens then? I just wouldn't want you to spend all your time and energy to be at a certain number and be upset if it doesn't remain constant.

All I know for me, is that my weight is in a constant state of flux, I think I hit my low of 126 for like one day, and it's been up and down since. My goal is to be within a 5lbs fluctation, I am at the highest end of that now, which is why I will carry on with Stillmans plan for weightloss.

It reminds me of when Oprah lost all her weight and carried about 100 lbs of animal fat in a wagon on her big weightloss reveal show with all this fanfare, then she admits she was at that weight for one day

Suzanne

First== THANK YOU for admiring and acknowledging my focus. Seriously, I could have cried because NOONE ever says to me that what I am doing is worth it. This means alot. What really hit me the most, is that I am seeking someone elses approval... and this goes back to my own issues with food. I have come a longggg way but it is a life long process. Actually, 115 is the heaviest I have ever been in along time. I am a petite girl but had major issues with eating since adolescence. That being said, my celiac diagnose 12 years ago has been a blessing some way. Now, I want to be healthy, feel good and stay vital. As you know, I am in a PhD program and it is rough road alone, but I am strong!

I am single, no family and I know I focus on health as my coping mechanism to get me through times of emotional disturbance. I am learning to accept my body, love myself and remain TRUE to who I am, despite my cohort and friends constantly telling me I need BALANCE and CARBS. They dont get it!! Not even my therapist gets it So, I will continue to be on this board, push through and do what feels right for me.

You really made me think: So, what if I never reach 112? Not a big deal, for petes sake. I just want to feel wholesome and healthy in order to better this society and teach students how to help people with disabilities. Ok, sorry to ramble, but it was so great to hear a compliment.

Thanks.
