Hi Ladies, new and old
I'm back! After my week of debauchery, I faced the scale this morning and am up 5 lbs from last Tuesday, I ate and drank and was merry so no regrets.
I must have only managed 1 full bottle of water in that time , and in the 95 Vegas heat - not a good move, I did have lots of liquids in alcoholic form though

Back to Stills today, but I know those carb cravings linger, long and hard, so if I can get through these next 3 days whiteknuckling it, I'll be good.
for me.
Have to go back and see how you are all doing in this merry month of May, but I did catch Kandi - you are blasting through the 190's

Looking forward to getting back on track with y'all

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great birthday week. Only 5 pounds is great for a week of debauchery.

Nice work. I hope you see a new low tomorrow. How exciting. I have a ways to go before I do that. My lowest in 6 years is 201, then Halloween candy happened.

As far as our current WOE, I had some questions and would love it if anyone could chime in and gimme the scoop!

For starters, what's the longest that any of you have consistently adhered to Still's for? Has anyone experienced negative side effects? I ask because when I seek this info online, a zillion sites speak of all the crap that happens on a protein-only "diet" and I want to eliminate as much risk as possible.

I'd also like to know if our appetites are supposed to be dramatically lessened in order to be in ketosis?? From the first time I've done Still's my appetite has been the same, making me wonder..WTH?!

Can anyone throw in their 2 cents?

Thank you
Welcome Ninja Barbie!
When I started Stills this time at the beginning of April, I went about 11 days strictly, strictly by the book, not so coincidently that was when I lost the bulk of my weight for the month - once I started adding a little of this, little of that (all low carb, but perhaps added dairy and fat) things slowed down considerably.
It took me a good 5 days to experience extreme appetite suppression, no hunger, but the shakes a little, which made me force myself to eat. That would only last a day or so, and then I had higher hunger days then others.

I also second everything BrattyS writes below. Magnesium nightly, helped with the constipation and I also found better loses, when I got at least 64oz of water in a day.
Good luck and don't beat yourself up if you veer off track, because it is, one of the strictest plans out there, but the results can be amazing

Both I remedied with magnesium and potassium supplements. I really feel amazing when I am on plan. I do have somewhat of an appetite but it is nothing compared to what it is when I am off plan. I get hungry several hours after I eat but I do not crave anything. At least till the hormones hit, then all bets are off. hehehe

Thanks, BrattyS. Fingers crossed. I still haven't figured out how to multi post, and I am so behind on all the posts, that I am being lazy and responding to each one seperately. You've done really well, losing 9 pounds in a week is awesome . Stick with it, and you will soon meet and then surpass your lowest too

I'm stressing because I'm waiting rather impatiently to find out if I have to fly to England on Sunday for work. I would think it's cool, if I didn't have to rush back next thursday to prep for a road trip weekend with my kids that I promised them. That, compounded by the issues with doing a plan like this while travelling is making me really worried. I'm praying I don't have to go!
You're going in the right direction, and that's always a good thing ! How cool if you did get to go to England, although I kinda agree it will be tough to manage the return back in time for your road trip. But it all sounds like so many fun opportunities to me...I'm sure you must've considered it, but can you perhaps do Atkins in the interim while you're away? I know you will definitely sort this out. You're a

So glad I stayed the course last night. Was teetering on the verge of disaster when hubby tucked into his ice cream after dinner. I decided hanging around would be dangerous and declared it was bed time ! The kids were commenting about how mom was moving up bed time earlier and earlier. Oops

Still doing good mentally. I have about 2.5 weeks before PMS makes me a diet lunatic, so giving it my all until then. It would be great to move into the next decade by Sunday morning weigh in.

Be back later for personals. Meetings all day today with no time even for a bio break. Hang in there everyone, and make it a great Still's day

Good job avoiding the ice cream! Thankfully my husband is on plan with me. (mostly) He was bad at Six Flag the other day.
I think you will be in the 130s by Sunday if you keep it up.

Didn't weigh today, I was scrambling to get out the door. Also really busy at work this week, so may just stay quiet for the next few days. Love reading the posts though!

I'm going to go to the grocery today to buy some fish. I'm so sick of chicken, I swear I'm going to sprout feathers! LOL

lumosity I forgot to add earlier about the multi post. Next to the "Quote" button for each persons post, there is a button with quote marks and a plus sign. If you click that it will turn orange. You can add them as you read and then when you click the reply button at the bottom all the quotes you added will be there. Hope that makes sense.

Kandi!
I am super, super impressed with your no birthday treats and I just know you will firmly be in the 180's by months end!

Great new avi Sexyback and adorable kiddies!

BrattyS - so glad you are moving down!

Way to go everyone, on staying the course! Of which I am jealous, because I'm having a hard time climbing back on the wagon. I do have another friend in from the UK with her hubby now, so it's been lunches and I am meeting them for breakfast this morning - also it's pms week, once again.
It's all good, I was down a lb of my bloat this morning, I'll just be able to refocus once guests have gone and am firmly back in my routine.

Hey BrattyS, thanks for that tip on how to multi quote.... I promise though not to go too crazy with the multi quote

SexyBack, love your new pic. Your 30lb loss is clearly visible from your face, and I love the look on your son's face.... I rotate between eggs, chicken, salmon, and turkey. I use some ff cottage cheese mixed in with some sauce I made by running a can of Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce through the processor. That stuff is nuclear spicy, so a little goes a long way. I mix up the cottage cheese with the Chipotle pepper liquid and create a sauce to coat the protein, so it doesn't feel so dry all the time.

D2L, glad that your run in with the Donut didn't cause any lingering damage. You were good, I don't think I could stop at one.

Kandi, you've lost 5 pounds already, and with another 3 weeks+ left in this month, I think you will surpass your goal for May

SuzanneM, before I officially started Stillman's, I had just returned from a Disney trip where I ate what I wanted, when I wanted . I was up about 6 pounds from my pre-trip weight, but in 3 days of Atkins eating, I was able to get rid of all but one lb. It's a thought, for me, it was kind of daunting to get into Stillman's after the previous days of luxurious eating, so may be ease into it gradually over 2-3 days?
