May 1 - 209.8
May 2 - 209.2
May 3 - 209.2
May 4 - 207.0
May 5 - 206.6

I'm surprised I went down. I didn't drink nearly enough water yesterday. Plus, I ate late last night because I had my nose in a book ALL day yesterday, and picked a lousy choice. I had four strips of bacon, even though I had Stillmans protein sitting in my veggie crisper . Man, did I pay for it! I had woke up at 1am with a wicked gallbladder attack. I've had two in the last month, all on nights where I ate something too fatty too close to bed. I normally get maybe one a year since I had my twins. I think my body is trying to tell me something! LOL. I think now I will start to listen.

Good job Everyone!!

I have a couple of questions if anyone feels like giving input. Are you finding that exercise is slowing your loss or speeding it up? As far as "lean meats"...do any of you eat turkey bacon and/or lean chicken sausage, etc? I want to stick to this plan as closely as possible but am looking for as many food choices as possible at the same time. Any input is greatly appreciated!!

I eat the turkey bacon. No lean chicken sausage (never seen it). But if you are sensitive to sodium I suggest limiting how much you eat in a day/week.

Tiny gain could also just be salt or normal fluctuation. Hopefully your river of water will drop it back down tomorrow. I see you Birthday coming up. Have any plans?

I mostly eat eggs and chicken. I sometimes have shrimp and lean hamburger patties. I used to have ground turkey but for some reason I am not in the mood to eat it at all. I have eaten a lot of turkey bacon on plan in the past. I just haven't needed much variation this time around. I think I mostly look at carb count. I try to eat the fattier stuff just a few times a week.
I cant help with exercise. I don't do it yet.

I forgot to comment on Exercise.

I have only started going to the gym to lift weights the last 1.5 weeks. I can't say if it is slowing me down or speeding me up.... But I'm losing again. I'm pretty sure that's because I finally cut out the cheese.

Regardless, I've incorporated the weight lifting because I want to be sure my muscles hiding under the fat are toning up. Considering this journey is an overall wellness and fitness program, I knew I would have to eventually. I don't do cardio just yet. I'm coming off a plantar fasciitis injury (OMG pain in the foot) so the pounding of the foot during cardio is just too much. I like the weight lifting though. It doesn't require too much time commitment. Plus, cardio will never burn as many calories in a day that ketosis will!

Can I join in? Have been trying Stillman many times, the longest period was 2 weeks, cannot stay any longer because I just cant live without fruit.
I have read all the posts and love all your stories. You girls give me strength to go on,I want to give it a try and see if I can lose more than the previews times.
I hate drinking water even though I know its the most important thing to do.
I also eat repeatedly the same ol' food...hb eggs, deviled eggs and grilled chicken breast.
Will be posting my stats everyday , cos that's keeps me motivated.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Welcom mishelkiki and tjjsmom!

Yep, stillmans is challenging. But it works! I actually find it easier with less variety than more....LOL.

Goal for May 195
Apr End Weight 208.8

May 1 - 209.8
May 2 - 209.2
May 3 - 209.2
May 4 - 207.0
May 5 - 206.6
May 6 - 206.4 A small drop, but I kind of expected it. Getting very close to TOM.
As for staying away from dairy, OMG has it been hard. I have been caving on occasion. I don't eat NEARLY as much, but still add HWC (much less) to my tea, and maybe one bite of cheese every other day. Ugh. I'm kind of letting myself down in this. Ok, from this point on, no MORE!! I've got lots of protein hiding in my veggie crisper, so I really have no excuse.

Hope Everyone is having a great day!

Hi Everyone, I am back in my routine. Yesterday didn't go to plan. My meetings turned into a lunch meeting, so instead of the ground turkey I took, I ended up eating chicken Caesar salad. Low carb, but not Still's. Then, after I drove back home, around 8 PM or so, I was famished, and had some cereal hubby left on the kitchen island, while waiting for my food to heat up !!!!!!

Anyways, TOM is on it's way out, and I will be Still's all the way. My next mini goal is to be out of the 140s by Sunday morning. Reckon it's possible ? Ha ha, we'll see.

to all the new folks joining us. Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning to All ladies (do we have any gentlemen)?? Well I left onederland but hopefully I will be back in the 190's tomorrow.
Welcome to all the newbies. Mishelkiki, I miss fruit too. So I have been eating Kroger's Carbmaster Yogurt and mixing a little with cottage cheese. The whole carton only has 4 carbs. I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do on this diet, but it has worked for me. I also bought zero fat greek yogurt and mixed it with parmesan cheese, pepper and garlic powder. Spread it on chicken breasts and baked them for about 1 hr. DELISH!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and LET"S LOSE IT!!!!!

Hello! I used atkins to lose 50 lbs but stalled at 145- researched a little about other diets to get me out of this stall and arrived here! I started yesterday and down 2.2 lbs this morning- all water weight but good to know the scale will move! My plan is to hardcore it with low fat meat, no dairy, as much water as I can drink, LIMIT my diet soda- I think if I cut this out I couldn't make it. Other than my KILLER headache- I'm doing pretty good so far...

5/5 146.6
5/6 144.4

*My goal is to be at 135 by the end of this month!*

The scale and I are not friends today. I can't complain too much. I have lost a lot in less than a week and I know my body will have to adjust. I am solidly in ketosis and I am mentally in a great spot still. I love how much better my clothes are fitting and I don't have massive tummy bloat.

Welcome Mishelkiki and Tjjsmom!

Goal for May 218

Day 1- 233.2 (started the day before the 1st of the month.)

May 2- 227.2
May 3- 226.2

I have not missed cheese the last week. It is shocking me! Other than the slice on my burger at six flags I have had no cheese. Soo.. NO CHEESE FOR YOU!

I shouldn't but I had to giggle picturing you eating cereal while watching your on plan food heat up. It doesn't seem that the salad and cereal messed you up too badly. You are doing fine!

You should be back in onederland in no time! The chicken coating sounds good. I may give it a try when I can not stand my normal chicken anymore.

Sort of an offside topic:

Do you ever get a teensy bit frustrated with people who don't want to hear the health benefits of LC eating, but want you to hear them complain about how they feel? I have a variety of people in my life who bend my ear about their illnesses, and I have to keep my mouth shut about how LC could help them with it. They know what I'm doing, as I speak to it from a personal experience (how I feel much better, my IBS is gone, my acne gone, my energy up, my sleeping patterns improved, fantastic hair and nails, etc. etc). I understand that everyone has to make the journey in their own time when they are ready. It's frustrating when they say I'm "so lucky" to be losing weight, they want to do the same thing, then go on a low calorie diet, feel like crap, then fail. I work Hard! I sacrifice a LOT! And I"m reaping the benefits! If they want the same things, they need to do something different from what they have always done, and stop making their doctors responsible for their health issues! (ok, off soapbox there LOL). In some ways, I feel as if speaking about LC eating as a way to improve their health is like trying to convert and atheist to Christianity.

Hey girls!

Thank you all so much for letting me jump in the group; I'm so excited!!

I do, however, want to apologize for not responding until now. I've been without my computer (getting ready to move) and I'm trying to type all I want to say from my phone, which isn't an easy task . Yes, I'm pouting

As far as our current WOE, I had some questions and would love it if anyone could chime in and gimme the scoop!

For starters, what's the longest that any of you have consistently adhered to Still's for? Has anyone experienced negative side effects? I ask because when I seek this info online, a zillion sites speak of all the crap that happens on a protein-only "diet" and I want to eliminate as much risk as possible.

I'd also like to know if our appetites are supposed to be dramatically lessened in order to be in ketosis?? From the first time I've done Still's my appetite has been the same, making me wonder..WTH?!

Can anyone throw in their 2 cents?

Thank you

Today is the end of week one for me. Grateful the scale moved down a bit but I am sick of seeing the number 224. Ready for a new number!
However, I am ecstatic that I lost 9.2 pounds my first week on. Mentally ready to take on week 2. Mothers day is Sunday and I have told everyone I do not want to do our usual go out to eat. I plan to remain on plan.

Goal for May 218

Day 1- 233.2 (started the day before the 1st of the month.)
------------
May 1- 229.8
May 2- 227.2
May 3- 226.2
May 4- 224.8
May 5- 224.6
May 6- 224.6
May 7- 224.0
(week one loss 9.2)

Thankfully I have not had that problem but I totally agree with you. Most of my close people have actually tried to do stills or some other form of LC.

Lucky! If I even licked a donut I would gain 3 pounds.

The longest I have ever done Stillmans with NO cheats was 3.5 weeks. I had no health issues. I think over the years the worst thing I have had happen is leg cramps and constipation. Both I remedied with magnesium and potassium supplements. I really feel amazing when I am on plan. I do have somewhat of an appetite but it is nothing compared to what it is when I am off plan. I get hungry several hours after I eat but I do not crave anything. At least till the hormones hit, then all bets are off. hehehe

Goal for May 195
Apr End Weight 208.8

May 1 - 209.8
May 2 - 209.2
May 3 - 209.2
May 4 - 207.0
May 5 - 206.6
May 6 - 206.4
May 7 - 206.2 Meh... another 0.2... But I guess it's acceptable considering I'm going through monthly hormonal cravings GAH!.

I'm stressing because I'm waiting rather impatiently to find out if I have to fly to England on Sunday for work. I would think it's cool, if I didn't have to rush back next thursday to prep for a road trip weekend with my kids that I promised them. That, compounded by the issues with doing a plan like this while travelling is making me really worried. I'm praying I don't have to go!

BrattyS: Ahh yes, the 224s. I remember that number rather fondly (not!). I stalled there for quite a while, until I did stillmans. Hang in there. I predict (lol) you will see at least the 223 tomorrow!

Ninja Barbie: I agree with BrattyS! But I couldn't hang in as long as 3.5 weeks without some dairy (my Achilles heel).

D2L: Hey good for you!! I bet that was quite a shock!

KUTGW everyone!
